1 India & Bangladesh launch '50 Start-ups Exchange Programme'

The first group of 10 start-up companies under the 50 start-ups exchange programme between India and Bangladesh returned to Dhaka after completing a successful five-day visit to India from 8-12 May. These Start-ups belong to sectors such as e-commerce, health, transport and logistics, energy, education and skill development. 

Under this programme, 50 Start-ups from Bangladesh and 50 Start-ups from India will exchange visits to each other’s countries for exploring partnerships, expanding business relations, sharing experience and knowledge and expanding youth and entrepreneurial cooperation. The framework of the programme was decided by the Prime Ministers of the two countries during their recent bilateral summits.

3 Union Minister Pratima Bhoumik hands over appointment letters to 321 new recruits

As part of the nationwide ‘Rozgar Mela’ event, a total of 321 including 67 female from Northeast were handed over appointment letters in six different ministries including Assam Rifles.

Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ms. Pratima Bhoumik handed over the appointment letters to 321 new recruits from 6 other Northeast states except Assam and Sikkim, during the 5th tranche of Rozgar Mela for Northeast region, held today at Dimapur in Nagaland.

4 Govt launches Citizen Centric Portal, Sanchar Saathi to block and trace lost mobile phones

Union Minister for Communications Ashwini Vaishnaw launched a Citizen Centric Portal named Sanchar Saathi Portal at a function in New Delhi on Tuesday through which mobile users can now track and block their lost mobile phones. The Sanchar Saathi Portal is an initiative of Department of Telecommunications. It empowers the citizens by allowing them to know the mobile connections issued in their names, get the connections not required by them disconnected and to block and trace the lost mobile phones.

5 Union Minister Jitendra Singh to inaugurate 8th All India Pension Adalat in Delhi

Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the 8th All India Pension Adalat in Delhi today, where chronic cases will be taken up and resolved. Till date 7 All India Pension Adalats have been organised by the Department, in which 24,218 cases have been taken up and 17235 cases have been resolved.

The Minister will also preside over the 50th PRC (Pre-Retirement Counselling) Workshop. Conducted by Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, this PRC is being organised for 1200 officers of all ministries and departments who are going to retire in next 6 months.

6 PM Modi to inaugurate International Museum Expo 2023 in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the International Museum Expo 2023 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi tomorrow. The International Museum Expo is being organised as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate the 47th International Museum Day. The theme for this year is ‘Museums, Sustainability and Well Being’.

During the programme, PM Modi will inaugurate a virtual walkthrough of the upcoming National Museum at the North and South Blocks. The Museum is a comprehensive effort to highlight and showcase historical events, personalities, ideas and achievements related to India’s past that have contributed to the making of India’s present.

Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav today launched a mobile application, called Meri LiFE (My life) in New Delhi.

This app is inspired by the concept of LiFE, envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at COP 26, which emphasizes mindful and deliberate utilization instead of mindless and wasteful consumption.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Yadav said that this app will showcase the power of citizens, especially young people in saving the environment.

9 New Delhi: Union Minister Hardeep S Puri launches mega campaign ‘Meri LiFE, Mera Swachh Shehar’

Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep S Puri launched his Ministry's mega campaign ‘Meri LiFE, Mera Swachh Shehar’, in New Delhi today. This campaign aims to champion, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (RRR) concept of waste management.  Under this nationwide campaign, RRR Centres or one-stop collection centres will be set up where citizens can give their used clothes, shoes, old books, toys and plastic to be reused or recycled.

AIR Correspondent reports that this three-week campaign will strengthen citizens' resolve under SBM-U 2.0 - to reduce, reuse and recycle - and will also champion Mission LiFE’s objective of taking collective action for the protection and conservation of the environment by adopting sustainable daily habits.
