1 UAE Establishes new Ministry of Investment to Boost Economic Competitiveness

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the establishment of a new Ministry of Investment aimed at developing the investment vision of the country and enhancing its competitiveness in the global market.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, chaired the UAE Cabinet meeting where the decision was made. Under the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Cabinet approved the establishment of the Ministry of Investment and appointed Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi as the minister. The ministry's main responsibilities will include proposing investment policies, preparing strategies and legislation, and implementing national programs to promote the investment environment and enhance its competitiveness.The establishment of the Ministry of Investment reflects the UAE's commitment to attracting investments in various sectors and leveraging its world-class infrastructure as a global platform. 3 Department of Food and Public Distribution to organize National Conference

Department of Food and Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution is organizing a 'National Conference of Food Ministers' on Wednesday, 5th July 2023 in New Delhi. The conference is aimed at developing an action plan for the procurement of coarse grains during Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2023-24, discussing key initiatives undertaken by the Government for effective implementation of PMGKAY, disseminating best practices of States/UTs, and strengthening the focus on food and nutritional security.

Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Commerce & Industry and Textiles, Shri Piyush Goyal will chair the Conference. The Conference would also be graced by the Union Ministers of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ms. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey and Ministers of Food & Civil Supplies of States/UTs.

Shri Debadatta Chand has assumed charge as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Baroda (Bank) today. He takes over from Shri Sanjiv Chadha, whose tenure ended on June 30, 2023.

9 MoU signed for Navy gallery at National Maritime Heritage Complex

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Sunday between the Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, and Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Ltd. for the planning, development, construction, and commissioning of a gallery at the National Maritime Heritage Complex in Lothal, Gujarat.

The MoU was signed for the planning, development, construction, and commissioning of a gallery on the theme "Evolution of the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard" at the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC), which is being constructed at the historic Indus Valley civilization region of Lothal (Gujarat), stated a press release from Ministry of Defence.
