The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, distributed Honey Bee-Boxes and Toolkits to 130 beneficiaries here on 4th July, 2023. The program was organized under the 'Gramodyog Vikas Yojna' of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, State Office Delhi, Government of India.

The ceremony took place at Chainsukh Vatika, Yamuna Pusta Road, Jagatpur village and was attended by the esteemed dignitaries including Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, MP from North-East Delhi Shri Manoj Tiwari, Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission Shri Manoj Kumar, Member of KVIC North Zone Shri Nagendra Raghuvanshi, CEO of KVIC Shri Vineet Kumar, Deputy CEO and Director of Delhi KVIC State Office.

2 Swimming Nationals 2023, Day 4: Aryan, Dhinidhi, Palak, Lineysha, Nina create new National Record

Aryan Nehra of Gujarat, ‘who won the best male swimmer’, broke yet another National Record, this time in the men’s 400m medley event at the National Swimming Championship in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Aryan overwrote the previous record of 4:30.13 set by Rehan Poncha in 2019, with a time of 4:25.62.

13-year-old Dhinidhi Desinghu from Karnataka, erased the previous national record by more than a second, clocking 2:04.24 to win gold in the 200m freestyle.

3 Parth Salunkhe tops the Ranking round of the World Archery Youth Championships

Parth Salunkhe continued his good form this year to top the ranking round ahead of the World Youth Championships in the recurve men’s under-21 individual category in Ireland on Tuesday.

India enjoyed a solid day at the World Youth Championships as several Indians finished in the top 10 of the ranking rounds of the U21 championships.

Parth Salunkhe, who won a silver medal in the senior Singapore Asia Cup Leg 3 competition in June, topped the rankings on Tuesday in Ireland. Parth will be in action for the third round on 8th July 2023 and was awarded a bye for the first two rounds of the championships. He will begin the World Youth Championship as a favourite.

4 Brazil legend Marta confirms Women's World Cup farewell

Brazil forward Marta said it feels "surreal" to be preparing for a sixth Women's World Cup and confirmed the tournament in Australia and New Zealand will be her last.

The 37-year-old made her World Cup debut in 2003 and is Brazil's all-time leading scorer with 117 goals. She has won the Copa America three times but is yet to lift the World Cup.

5 Chhangte, Manisha named men's and women's AIFF Players of Year for 2022-23

India and Mumbai City FC winger Lallianzuala Chhangte was on Tuesday named the AIFF Men's Footballer of the Year, on the back of his impressive performance in the Indian Super League (ISL) and for the national team.

The 26-year-old Mizoram player featured in 12 matches during the international season for India, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the 2022-23 season. He beat national team-mates Nandhakumar Sekar and Naorem Mahesh Singh to the coveted award.

6 Chamari Athapaththu Becomes Sri Lanka's First Player to Top ICC Women's ODI Player Rankings

Captain of the Sri Lankan women’s team, Chamari Athapaththu has taken the top spot in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s ODI player rankings after scoring 140 off 80 balls against New Zealand in the ICC Women’s Championship.

The opener fellow Sri Lankan, Sanath Jayasuriya who is the only male player to top the ODI rankings having held top spot for 181 days from September 2002 to May 2003.

Athapaththu managed win two ‘Player of the Match’ awards and the ‘Player of the Series’ award by scoring two centuries in three matches. She scored 108 not out of 83 balls in the first match and scored 140 not out of 80 deliveries in the third match.

7 Hewlett Packard to manufacture high-end servers in India

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has partnered with Indian manufacturer VVDN Technologies to begin manufacturing some of its high-volume servers in India, the American multinational information technology company said on Tuesday.

This announcement comes in the wake of the recent Prime Minister Narendra Modi's State visit to the US.

The Texas-headquartered company plans to manufacture approximately USD 1 billion worth of high-runner servers in the first five years of production from India, it said in a release.

8 Ajit Pawar to inaugurate new NCP party office in Mumbai

Days after joining the BJP-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra, state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will shortly inaugurate a new Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) party office near Mantralaya in Mumbai on Tuesday. Ajit Pawar had claimed that the entire NCP was on his side.

9 Over 205 species of birds found in Bihar

As many as 205 species of birds were found in Bihar in the latest census conducted in the state by the department of forests, environment and climate change in collaboration with the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) in January-February this year.

In comparison to 2022 census, only 202 species of birds were found in the state.

This year, the counting exercise was done in 26 districts of the state, covering 76 wetlands, comprising three river systems, Ganga, Kosi and Gandak.

10 Forests for monkeys to come up in state capital

Some dedicated ‘monkey forests’ (Vanar Vans) will be created in the state capital during the proposed annual plantation drive for simian population. These Vanar Vans will be created in three categories—by nagar nigam, forest and rural development departments.

“The plan is to plant saplings of fruit bearing trees in these pockets that will take the shape of a forest when saplings grow big. These Vanar Vans will help sustain simian population who often trouble locals when they move around in residential areas in search of food,” said Ravi K Singh, divisional forest officer, Awadh Range.

The issue was discussed at a review meeting on plantation that district magistrate Suryapal Gangwar convened on Monday. “The “Vanar Vans” will be located on the outskirts of the city so that monkeys may get food and water for their survival,” Singh said.
