1 Niti Aayog launches CCUS policy framework and its deployment mechanism in India

Niti Aayog today launched the carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS) policy framework and its Deployment Mechanism in India.  The report was launched by Vice Chairman Niti Aayog Suman Bery, in the presence of Power secretary Alok Kumar, Dr V Saraswat, member Niti Aayog and other officials in New Delhi. The report was prepared on the valuable inputs provided by the various stakeholders from the  Energy and Power Sector (E&P).

Earlier the government had put the draft policy titled '2030 Roadmap for CCUS for Upstream E&P companies in the public domain for suggestions from all the stakeholder's holders in the country. The purpose of CCUS policy framework is to develop and implement a practicable framework to accelerate research and development on carbon capture, utilisation and storage in India.

2 President Droupadi Murmu to confer the National Sports Awards 2022 at Rashtrapati Bhawan

President  Droupadi Murmu will confer the National Sports Awards 2022 and National Adventure Awards 2021 to the awardees at a function at  Rashtrapati Bhawan this evening. Table Tennis player Sharath Kamal Achanta has been chosen for Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award for 2022. 

This year Arjuna Awards for outstanding performance in Sports and Games will be given to 25 sportspersons. They include athletes  Seema Punia and Eldhose Paul, shuttlers Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy, woman boxer Nikhat Zareen, Hockey player Deep Grace Ekka, weightlifter Vikash Thakur, Wrestlers Anshu and Sarita and Para-Badminton player Tarun Dhillon.

3 Health Pavilion wins Outstanding Contribution towards Public Communication and Outreach award at 41st IITF

The Health and Family Welfare Ministry pavilion has won the Outstanding Contribution towards Public Communication and Outreach award at 41st India International Trade Fair 2022 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The Health Pavilion conducted as many as 37 thousand 887 screenings, investigations, counseling and training. Nearly 5,530 visitors visited the National Health Authority (NHA) counter where 1,110 visitors got their Ayushman Bharat Health Account cards and benefits of getting ABHA ID were also provided.

4 Ministry of Power launches a scheme to procure aggregate power of 4500 MW to help states facing power shortage

Ministry of Power has launched a scheme for procurement of aggregate power of 4500 MW for five years under SHAKTI Policy. The Ministry said that the scheme will help states that are facing power shortage and help generation plants to increase their capacities.

PFC Consulting Limited has been designated as the nodal agency. It has invited bids for the supply of 4,500 MW electricity. The supply will commence from April next year.

5 EAM S Jaishankar addresses seventh edition of the Global Technology Summit

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today said the rise of India is deeply linked with rise of Indian technology. He was speaking at the seventh edition of the Global Technology Summit in New Delhi.

The three-day Summit is India’s annual flagship event on Geotechnology and is co-hosted by the Ministry of External Affairs and Carnegie India. The theme for this year’s Summit is Geopolitics of Technology.

7 India-Australia bilateral military training exercise 'Austra Hind 22' to begin tomorrow

The bilateral training exercise “AUSTRA HIND 22” between contingents of the Indian Army and the Australian Army is scheduled to take place at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges (Rajasthan) from tomorrow to 11th  December 2022. This is the first exercise in the series of AUSTRA HIND with the participation of all arms and services contingent from both armies. The Australian Army contingent comprising soldiers from the 13th Brigade of the 2nd Division has arrived at the exercise location. The Indian Army is represented by troops from the DOGRA Regiment.

Exercise “AUSTRA HIND” will be a yearly event that will be conducted alternatively in India and Australia.

8 Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to present Shilp Guru and National Awards to master craftspersons today

The Ministry of Textiles will give away Shilp Guru and National Awards to master craftspersons for 2017, 2018, and 2019 in New Delhi today. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the Chief Guest of the award ceremony. Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal will preside over the function. The Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) has been implementing the scheme of National Awards for master craftspersons since 1965. Shilp Guru Awards was introduced in 2002. These Awards are conferred every year to legendary master craftspersons of handicrafts whose work has contributed to the preservation of rich and diverse craft heritage of the country. The main objective is to give recognition to outstanding craftspersons in the handicrafts sector. The awardees represent almost all states and UTs of the country, as well as different craft styles of different locations.

10 Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards announced for years 2019, 20 and 21

The Sangeet Natak Akademi has announced a one-time Sangeet Natak Akademi Amrit Award under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.  A total of 86 artists from the field of the Performing Arts in India were selected for this award. These include artists who are above the age of 75 years and have not been accorded any national honour in their career so far.

The General Council of Akademi has unanimously selected these artists for this one-time Award.  The award carries a purse money of one lakh rupees besides  Tamrapatra and Angavastram.
