Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth 1800 crore rupees in his Parliamentary Constituency Varanasi today. Addressing a gathering at Dr. Sampurnanand Sports Stadium, the Prime Minister elaborated on the development works being done in Varanasi. He said Kashi has  showcased to the country that new-age development can take place while preserving the heritage. He said the initiatives launched today will help in creating future-ready infrastructure and will enhance ease of living.

The Prime Minister said the numbers of tourists visiting Kashi are increasing day by day. He appealed to the residents of Varanasi to work for cleanliness as lakhs of devotees are expected to arrive for darshan of Kashi Vishwanath Dham in the upcoming Shravan month.

2 National Health Authority to host Hackathon Series under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission

National Health Authority (NHA) will be hosting its first ever open-to-all hackathon series to drive ideation and innovations around the different building blocks in the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) ecosystem.

The series will begin with a hackathon - ‘Round 1: Kickstarting Unified Health Interface (UHI)’ slated for 14th to 17th July 2022.

The hackathon shall be focussed on the Unified Health Interface (UHI) and would aim at mobilising the health start-up ecosystem in India and bringing together individuals and organisations to develop solutions through UHI.

The hackathon will provide an excellent opportunity for innovators, data experts and developers from all over the world to collaborate and build innovative solutions for providing access to digital health services through UHI.

3 Civil Aviation Ministry releases second provisional list of 23 beneficiaries under PLI Scheme for drone and drone components

The Civil Aviation Ministry has released the second provisional list of 23 beneficiaries under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for drone and drone components. These include 12 drone manufacturers and 11 drone component manufacturers. The PLI scheme for drones and drone components was notified in September last year.

4 Delhi Assembly passes Salary, Allowances, and Pension Amendment Bills 2022 on two-day Special Session

Delhi Assembly has passed the Salary, Allowances, and Pension Amendment Bills 2022 on the first day of its two-day Special Session.

The bill intends to increase the salaries and allowances of Ministers, members of a legislative assembly, Chief Whip, Speaker and Deputy Speaker, and leader of opposition from 54 thousand rupees to around 90 thousand rupees. Pension of the members will also be increased with this move. After passing, the bill will be sent to the President of India for approval.

5 Union Minister Piyush Goyal releases first edition of ‘State Ranking Index for National Food Security Act

Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Piyush Goyal said that the system of digitized, Aadhaar linked Public Distribution will be used to issue Ayushman Bharat Card. He said, health and food are naturally connected and nutritional security will get a fillip with health security.

The Minister today released the first edition of ‘State Ranking Index for National Food Security Act. While addressing the National Conference on Food and Nutrition Security in New Delhi, he said, India is now 100 percent connected under One Nation One Ration Card. He said, 45 crore transactions have already happened under this unique initiative which provided the beneficiaries, freedom to collect ration from any State and Union Territory in the country. Terming One Nation One Ration Card a revolutionary step, he said, this initiative supported migrants during Covid pandemic.

6 PM Modi to inaugurate Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Assam's Agradoot group of newspapers today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Agradoot group of newspapers at 4:30 PM today through video conferencing. Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is the Chief Patron of Agradoot’s Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee, will also be present on the occasion.

'Agradoot' was started as an Assamese bi-weekly. It was established by Kanak Sen Deka, a senior journalist of Assam. In 1995, a daily newspaper Dainik Agradoot was started and it has developed as a trusted and influential voice of Assam.

7 Parul Chaudhary breaks women’s 3000m National Record with a sub-9 minute race

Parul Chaudhary became the first Indian runner to clock a sub-9 minute time in the women’s 3000m when she rewrote the National Record with a time of 8:57.19 in the Sound Running Sunset Tour #1 in the Jack Kemp Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday as part of her preparations for the World Athletics Championships to be held from July 15. 
 
Parul Chaudhary, training in Colarado Springs in the past fortnight, broke Loganathan Suriya’s mark set of 9:04.5 (hand-timed) in the Indian Grand Prix 1 in New Delhi on April 24, 2016. Her time was easily the best produced by an Indian woman in overseas conditions, lowering the 9:06.42 clocked by Molly Chacko in the Asian Games in Hiroshima in 1994.

8 Digital India empowered people by making technology more accessible, says PM Modi; launches ‘Digital India Bhashini’ to provide easy access to internet & digital services in Indian languages

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Digital India Week 2022 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar today. The theme of this Digital India Week is ‘Catalyzing New India’s Techade’ to transform the nation into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. Addressing a gathering after inaugurating Digital India Week 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Digital India has made life so easy for those born in 21st century. We solved the queue system by going online.

Mr. Modi has also launched ‘Digital India Bhashini’ that will enable Indians an easy access to the internet and digital services in vernacular languages. He also launched ‘Digital India GENESIS’ - Gen-next Support for Innovative Startups- a national deep-tech startup platform. The total budget of 750 crore rupees has been envisaged for these schemes. The Prime Minister has also dedicated ‘MyScheme’, which will provide access to government schemes at a single place.

9 UGC-NET 2022: NTA releases exam schedule for December 2021 and June 2022 merged cycle

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the UGC NET 2022 exam schedule for December 2021 and June 2022 merged cycle.

The exam will begin from July 9. NTA released the UGC NET exam intimation slip yesterday for the exam scheduled for July 9, 2022.

Examination center slips for other dates of the exam has not yet been released. NTA has released UGC NET Schedule for exams to be held on July 9, 11, and 12. UGC NET 2022 will not be conducted on 9, 11, 12 July 2022 & 12, 13, 14 August 2022, in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

10 Union Minister Piyush Goyal stresses India should be number one ecosystem for startups in the world

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that India has become the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world within a span of six years. He said, the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has acted as a catalyst for startups rather than a controller.

The Minister released the results of the third edition of Ranking of States’ Exercise 2021 on Support to Startup Ecosystems in New Delhi yesterday. On this occasion, Mr. Goyal said, initiatives like Fund of Funds, Seed Fund Scheme, Income Tax exemption for three years, and resolving issue of Angel Tax have helped the startups ecosystem in the country. He stressed that India should be the number one ecosystem for startups in the world. He said, there are over 71 thousand startups from over 640 districts and concrete efforts can led to the registration of more startups.
