Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh will inaugurate a conference titled, “Women Leading Change in Health and Science in India” in New Delhi tomorrow.

Dr. Bharti Pravin Pawar, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Ms. Melinda French Gates, Co-chair and Trustee Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Ms. Amie Batson, Executive Director, WomenLift Health will also address the conference.

A meeting was held between External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar and Federal Foreign Affairs Minister of Germany Annalena Baerbock in New Delhi today. During the meeting, both leaders reviewed bilateral relations and shared their views on a number of important regional and global issues. Both sides have signed a Migration and Mobility Agreement which will facilitate easier access for people to study, research and work in both countries.

Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has congratulated National Highway Authority of India and Maha Metro on achieving the Guinness Book of World Record by constructing longest Double Decker Viaduct with Highway Flyover and Metro Rail Supported on single column in Nagpur. In a series of tweets, Mr Gadkari said, the project has already bagged records from Asia Book and India Book. The Minister saluted the engineers, officers and workers who persevered round the clock to make this happen.

The second volume of Jataka Tales audio book in Sinhala was released at Swami Vivekananda Cultural centre in Colombo on Friday.

Speaking at the release event, High Commissioner of India Gopal Baglay described the audio book as a ‘dhamma daana’ from the people of India to the people of Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan Pirivena education minister Vijitha Berugoda expressed gratitude towards Indian support for ‘Pirivenas’ and ‘Dhamma education’.

Flypast by naval aircraft and helicopters, search and rescue operations, helobatics, mock oil rig demolition were among the several spectacular demonstrations performed by the Indian Navy, enthralling spectators at the Rajendra Maidan in Kochi on Sunday evening. The demonstrations were part of the Navy Day celebrations organised by the Southern Naval Command.

Beating the Retreat was performed by the Naval Band while naval ships anchored along the backwaters were illuminated to mark the occasion.

Minister of State for Atomic Energy and Space Dr. Jitendra Singh will lead the Indian delegation to United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Abu Dhabi Space Debate beginning today, December 5. 

Dr. Singh will address the Opening Ceremony along with Israeli President Isaac Herzog. During the two-day International meet, the Minister will also attend the Ministerial Plenary on the ‘Role of Foreign Policy in Enabling Space Diplomacy and International Cooperation. 

To mark the 51st anniversary of India's victory in the Longewala battle during the 1971 war, Parakram Diwas will be celebrated at Jaisalmer Military Station and Longewala War Memorial in Rajasthan today, December 5. 

Several programs will be organized on this occasion at the Sagat Singh Stadium. This will include a band display, daredevils motorcycle stunts, mixed martial arts, mallakhamb, show jumping, musical performance, Parachute free fall, and much more. 

In Badminton, Unnati Hooda stormed into the under-17 women's singles quarter-finals at the Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2022 with a comfortable victory in Nonthaburi, Thailand

The Odisha Open champion beat Thailand’s Nutchavee Sittiteeranan 21-11, 21-19 with ease in her Round of 16 match. Top-seed Unnati Hooda will now take on South Korea's Min Ji Kim in the quarter-finals today. Besides Unnati Hooda, India's two doubles pairs also emerged victorious to progress into the pre-quarterfinals in the under-17 section.

In the FIFA World Cup, Germany beat Costa Rica 4-2 at Al-Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar in Group 'E' match, but fail to qualify for the round 16 stage as they lag behind Spain on goal difference.

In the other Group 'E' match, Japan beat Spain 2-1 at the Khalifa International Stadium and qualify for the round 16 stage. After both matches, Japan finished with six points, securing two wins from three matches. Spain and Germany were tied at four points but the former advanced on the basis of a better goal difference. Japan topped the standings and will face Croatia next while Spain, who finished level with Germany on four points, advanced on a goal difference and will play Morocco.

In the FIFA World Cup, South Korea will take on Portugal in Group 'H' stage match at Education City Stadium, Qatar, while Ghana will lock horns with Uruguay at Al-Janoub Stadium, Qatar

Both matches will be played at 8.30 Indian Standard time.

Yesterday Japan secured another incredible triumph beating Spain 2-1 at the Khalifa International Stadium and qualifying for the round of 16 stage. Spain staggered through to the World Cup last 16 despite the 2-1 defeat.
