| 5 | Oath taking ceremony of new President on Monday at Central Hall of Parliament | Chief Justice of India, Justice N V Ramana will administer the oath of office to Ms Murmu on Monday at the Central Hall of Parliament. 64-year-old Droupadi Murmu is the youngest President of the country. She is the first President of India who is born after Independence. in 1997, Ms Murmu first joined politics and was elected councilor in Rairangpur Notified Area Council. She served twice as an MLA from the Rairangpur assembly constituency from 2000 to 2009 and once as a Minister for Commerce, Transport, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development in Odisha Government. On 18th May 2015, Mr Murmu took oath as Governor of Jharkhand and stayed in the post till 12th July last year. She was the first woman Governor of the state and the first female tribal leader to serve as a Governor in any Indian state. |

| 7 | Central Board of Secondary Education announces Class XII results | The Central Board of Secondary Education today announced Class XII results. The Pass percentage 92.71 per cent. In all, 14 lakh 35 thousand 366 students appeared in Class XII Board Examination. The pass percentage of boys is 91.25 per cent and the pass percentage of girls is 94.54 per cent. The girls have done better than boys by 3.29 per cent. The CBSE said, 30 per cent weightage was given to the first term exams and 70 per cent weightage to the second term exams. Over 33 thousand students have scored above 95 per cent and one lakh 34 thousand students scored above 90 per cent during the examination. |

| 10 | Former SC judge Vineet Saran appointed BCCI ethics officer | Former Supreme Court judge Vineet Saran has taken over as the BCCI’s ethics officer and ombudsman, filling the dual posts lying vacant for a year. Saran has succeeded Justice (Retd) D. K. Jain, whose term ended in June last year. “Honourable Justice Saran’s appointment was made last month,” a BCCI official told PTI. Saran, 65, is a former Chief Justice of Odisha High Court, and also served as a judge in Karnataka and Allahabad High Court. When contacted, Saran, who calls himself a cricket lover, said: “I took charge last month, but I have not passed any order yet.” |
