All the arrangements have been made for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bhimavaram town in West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

The Prime Minister will participate in the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of freedom fighter of legendary Alluri Seetharama Raju. He will also unveil the 30 feet Bronze statue of Seetharama Raju on that day. The Prime Minister will also address a public gathering.

2 Indian Navy contingent joins Seychelles Defence Force for Independence Day celebrations

Indian Navy contingent joined the personnel of the Seychelles Defence Force and the citizens of Seychelles for the Independence Day celebrations recently. INS Kolkata, an indigenously built Stealth Guided Missile Destroyer of the Indian Navy, was deployed to Port Victoria of Seychelles to coincide with Independence Day on 29th June. It was dressed overall to mark the ceremonial occasion. A marching contingent of Indian Navy personnel along with a Musical Band joined the Military Parade held at the Unity Stadium at Roche Caiman yesterday. The deployment marked sustained participation of Indian Military Contingent in the Seychelles National Day since 1976.

3 Digital India Week 2022 to be inaugurated by Prime Minister at Gandhinagar in Gujarat

Digital India Week 2022 will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Gandhinagar in Gujarat today. During the programme, Mr Modi will launch multiple digital initiatives aimed at enhancing accessibility of technology, streamlining service delivery to ensure ease of living and giving a boost to startups. The theme for Digital India Week is Catalyzing New India’s Techade.

AIR correspondent reports that on the occasion, ‘Digital India Bhashini’ will be unveiled by the Prime Minister, which will enable easy access to the internet and digital services in Indian languages, including voice-based access, and help the creation of content in Indian languages. Mr Modi will also launch ‘Digital India GENESIS’ - a National Deep-tech Startup Platform, to discover, support, grow and make successful startups in Tier-II and Tier-III cities of India.  A total outlay of 750 crore rupees has been envisaged for the scheme.

4 Ban on Single Use Plastic comes into force in country from today

Ban on manufacture, import, stocking, distribution, sale and use of identified single use plastic items has come into force from today across the country. Single-use plastic are those items that are used only once and discarded. The items covered under the ban include ear buds with plastic sticks, plastic sticks for balloons, plastic flags, candy sticks, ice- cream sticks, polystyrene (Thermocol) for decoration, plastic plates, plastic cups, plastic glasses and plastic cutlery.

Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change said that national and State level control rooms will be set up for checking illegal manufacture, import, stocking, distribution, sale and use of banned single for the effective enforcement of ban.

5 Indian Army, Navy begin recruitment processes under Agnipath scheme

Defence Ministry has announced that Indian Army and Navy have started registration for recruitment of Agniveers under the Agnipath scheme. Under the scheme, Agniveers will be recruited in the Army, Navy and Air Force for 4 years.

After four years, up to 25 percent of them could be retained or re-enlisted in the regular cadre based on merit, willingness, and medical fitness.

The remaining 75 percent will be eligible for ‘Seva Nidhi’ packages of 11-12 lakh rupees.

6 DRDO carries out maiden flight of unmanned combat aircraft

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) yesterday successfully carried out the Maiden flight of Autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator from Aeronautical Test Range at Chitradurga in Karnataka.

With this success, India's secretive unmanned combat aerial vehicle UCAV programme under which a technology demonstrator called stealth wing flying test bed (SWift) is being developed reached a milestone.

The programme is linked to the development of India's fifth-generation stealth fighter advanced medium combat aircraft or AMCA.

7 India’s largest floating solar power project commissioned

India's largest floating solar power project is now fully operational. NTPC declared commercial operation of the final part capacity of 20 MW out of 100 MW Ramagundam Floating Solar PV Project at Ramagundam, Telangana with effect from 1st of July.

With the operationalisation of the 100-MW Solar PV Project at Ramagundam, the total commercial operation of floating solar capacity in the Southern Region rose to 217 MW.

Earlier, NTPC declared commercial operation of 92 MW Floating Solar at Kayamkulam in Kerala and 25 MW Floating Solar at Simhadri in Andhra Pradesh.

8 ISRO successfully launches PSLV C-53 rocket carrying three Singaporean satellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota

The national space agency, Indian Space Research Organisation, has successfully launched three Singaporean satellites this evening from the spaceport at Sriharikota.

The commercial launch was performed using the workhorse rocket PSLV-C53 that lifted off carrying the three main payloads. With this, the recently formed commercial arm of the Department of Space known as the New Space India Limited has successfully completed two launches, the first being the launch of the GSAT-24 communication satellite onboard the Arinave-V rocket from French Guiana.

9 PM Modi launches several schemes and programmes at Udyami Bharat Programme in New Delhi; Gives away National MSME Awards

Prime Minister Narendra Modi  today said  the government is making necessary policy changes to encourage MSME sector in the country. He added that  the Centre has increased the budget by more than 650 percent in the last eight years to strengthen the sector.

Addressing the Udyami Bharat Programme in New Delhi, Mr. Modi  said the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)  sector accounts for almost one third of India's economy and it has a very important role in India's growth journey.

He added that for the government MSME means Maximum Support to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises and said a self reliant fund of 50 thousand crore rupees has been released for the sector.  The Prime Minister also asked MSMEs to register on the GeM portal for supplying goods to the government.
