A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Sunday between the Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, and Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Ltd. for the planning, development, construction, and commissioning of a gallery at the National Maritime Heritage Complex in Lothal, Gujarat.

The MoU was signed for the planning, development, construction, and commissioning of a gallery on the theme "Evolution of the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard" at the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC), which is being constructed at the historic Indus Valley civilization region of Lothal (Gujarat), stated a press release from Ministry of Defence.

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will organize "G20 Conference on Crime and Security in the age of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), ArtificiaI Intelligence and Metaverse" on July 13-14 in Haryana's Gurugram. The two-day conference will bring together G20 countries, nine special invitee countries and domain experts around the world to delve into the challenges of advancing technologies.

There will also be participation from Ministries and Organizations of the Government of India, Chief Secretaries, Administrators of states and Union Territories (UTs), Director Generals of Police of States and UTs, cyber experts and guest speakers representing legal fraternity, academia, training institutions, financial intermediaries, fintech, social media intermediaries, information and communication technology, cyber forensics, regulators, startups, over the top (OTT) service providers, e-commerce companies and others.

With the establishment of a trilateral cooperation initiative involving France, the UAE, and India, earlier this year, the joint efforts to combat climate change are gaining momentum.

In an effort to combat the escalating threats of climate change, France and the United Arab Emirates have joined forces to expedite the transition to clean energy solutions. French Trade Minister Olivier Becht recently expressed the shared commitment of both nations to tackle climate change head-on and emphasized the importance of accelerating the shift towards sustainable energy sources.

Becht underscored the urgent need for global action to address the growing risks posed by global warming. He highlighted the increasing occurrence of natural disasters resulting from climate change as a compelling motivation to be more courageous and dedicated in driving the energy transition forward.

Abu Dhabi, UAE - The UAE-India Economic Summit, themed "Fostering Synergies – Uniting the Falcon and Tiger Economies," took place on July 3, 2023, at the ADGM Auditorium in Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi. The event, jointly hosted by SBI Capital Markets Limited (SBICAPS) and Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), brought together industry leaders from India and the UAE, and marked the official opening of SBICAPS ADGM Branch Office.

The World famous two-month-long Shravani Mela this year was inaugurated today by State Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh by offering prayers on the occasion of ‘Ashadha Purnima’ at Baba Baidyanathdham temple in Deoghar.

Mr Badal said that this year there are eight Mondays in the two-month-long Shravani Mela. The State government has made adequate arrangements for Kanwariyas to perform the Jal Abhishek puja of Baba Baidyanath.

Political parties will now be able to file their financial accounts online to the Election Commission. The Commission has launched a web-portal for filing of Contribution Report, Audited Annual Account and Election Expenditure Statements by Political Parties. These financial statements are required to be submitted by political parties to the poll body from time to time as per the Representation of People’s Act and transparency guidelines. In a letter to all political parties, the Commission said that the facility has been created to facilitate political parties in overcoming the difficulties in physical filing of reports and to ensure timely filing of financial statements. 

The Startup20 Shikhar summit under India's G20 presidency began in Gurugram, Haryana today. The Startup20 Engagement Group is hosting the two day Startup20 Shikhar summit. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Prakash said, education and awareness play a vital role in nurturing a culturally sensitive startup ecosystem. He said, India's recent climb on the global innovation index can be largely attributed to the dynamic startup ecosystem. Mr Prakash said, startup-20 strives to create a conducive business environment across G20 nations and assist sach talents from diverse background to commercialize, scale up and innovation further.

Payments giant Visa Inc said on Wednesday it would acquire Brazilian fintech platform Pismo for $1 billion in cash to expand its footprint in Latin America as the region continues to attract scores of foreign investments.

Pismo will retain its current management team and the deal is expected to close by the end of 2023, Visa said.

The consolidation also expands Sao Paulo-based Pismo's offerings. It provides technology through which clients can issue Visa and Mastercard cards.

The first batch of Mission Gaganyaan's crew recovery team's training at the Indian Navy's Water Survival Training Facility (WSTF) in Kochi, Kerala, has been completed by the first group.

Using the state-of-the-art facility, the team comprising Indian Naval Divers Marine Commandos went through the recovery training of crew modules in differing ocean conditions, according to the Ministry of Defence statement.

The two-week training capsule included instructions on how to carry out the mission, what to do in an emergency, and familiarisation with various aircraft and their rescue equipment.

Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah Sunday virtually launched the ‘Akshar River Cruise’ on Sabarmati Riverfront.

Developed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited, the cruise is the first passenger catamaran built in the country under Make in India at a cost of Rs 15 crore with twin engines where 165 passengers can travel safely for one-and-a-half hours.

Shah said the cruise is a gift from the Gujarat government and AMC to the citizens of Ahmedabad.
He added that the riverfront was a brainchild of Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he was the Gujarat chief minister. Shah said that the riverfront is not only popular in Ahmedabad but across India and the world, and has emerged as a major centre of tourism.
