1 Indian Navy participates Malabar Naval Exercise in Japan

India is participating in 26th International Malabar Naval Exercise beginning on Tuesday in Yokosuka of Japan. Australia, Japan and the USA are also participating in the Malabar Naval Exercise. The naval forces of these countries will take part in the exercise till the 18th of next month. Indian Naval Ships Shivalik and Kamorta are ready to demonstrate at the event.

The presence of these indigenously built ships of the Indian Navy at these multi-national events will be an opportunity to showcase the ship-building capabilities of Indian Shipyards. The MALABAR exercise was initiated in 1992 between the navies of India and the United States.

2 World Travel Market begins in London

The World Travel Market- WTM- 2022, one of the largest international travel exhibitions, has begun in London.

The Ministry of Tourism is participating in this three-day event, which will conclude on Wednesday. India’s participation is significant to step up the recovery of Inbound tourism to the pre-pandemic level. The theme of this year's exhibition is ‘The Future of Travel Starts Now’.

3 Morbi Bridge Collapse tragedy: Gujarat HC takes suo moto cognizance

Gujarat high court took a suo moto cognizance of the Morbi Bridge Collapse tragedy today.

A division bench of the Gujarat High Court, headed by Chief Justice Aravind Kumar has sought a status report from the government within a week regarding the action taken so far in the wake of the incident.

The court has also asked the State Human Rights Commission to submit a separate report. The matter is now listed on 14th November.

4 Indian Air Force begins online registration process for induction of Agniveervayu

The online registration process for induction of Indian candidates as Agniveervayu has been started by the Indian Air Force.

The online registration process started this evening. Online registration can be done by the applicants till 5 PM of the 23rd of this month. Online exam will be conducted from 18th to 24th January 2023.
 

According to the advertisement issued by the IAF on its website, the application process will be carried out in online mode only.

5 Guru Nanak Jayanti being celebrated with religious fervour; PM Modi participates in Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations

Guru Nanak Jayanti or Gurpurab is being celebrated with religious fervour across India and the world today. It marks the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who laid the foundation of Sikhism. This year marks the 553rd birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. On this day, devotees around the world offer prayers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a function on the eve of Guru Nanak Jayanti in New Delhi yesterday. On the 553rd birth anniversary celebration of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Prime Minister has offered prayers. The celebration took place at the residence of the Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities Iqbal Singh Lalpura. Union Minister Hardeep Puri and several dignitaries were present during the function.

6 Union Minister Bhupender Yadav inaugurates India Pavilion at 27th Session of Conference of Parties of UNFCCC (COP 27)

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav on Sunday inaugurated India Pavilion at the 27th Session of Conference of Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 27) at Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yadav said, India's Pavilion has been designed with the theme of LiFE- Lifestyle for Environment. The Pavilion will send out the message of LiFE through various audio-visuals, Logo and 3D models. He said, India Pavilion will continue to remind the delegates that simple lifestyle and individual practices that are sustainable in nature can help protect Mother Earth. Mr. Yadav added that Mission LiFE connects the powers of the people for the protection of this earth and teaches them to utilize it in a better way.

7 India to participate in World Travel Market beginning today at London

India will participate in the World Travel Market (WTM) 2022 in London today which is one of the largest international travel exhibitions. The theme of this year's exhibition is - the Future of Travel Starts Now. Tourism Ministry said, India is participating in the WTM 2022 to showcase itself as a preferred destination for tourism. During the three-day exhibition, a total of 16 stakeholders, including State Governments, Central Ministries, and tour operators, among others are participating as co-exhibitors in the India Pavilion. The objective is to showcase the diverse tourism products and services including Medical Value travel, luxury trains, and the gamut of tourism products to the international business community.

8 MoS Rajiv Chandrashekhar releases Two books on achievements and legacy of PM Modi in Dubai

Two books on the achievements and legacy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi were released by Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Chandrashekhar in Dubai. These “Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery” and “Heartfelt: The Legacy of Faith”. The books were released at a programme of Vishwa Sadhbhavana, NID Foundation (Dubai chapter) to enhance and consolidate bonds of fraternity and solidarity among people in the US, Australia, and New Zealand.

Addressing the Indian diaspora at the Vishwa Sadhbhavana event, Mr Chandrasekhar said, the success of the government’s flagship programs like Digital India, Skills India, Start-up India, etc, have changed India’s earlier narrative of a leaky and dysfunctional democracy. He said India today is a “living and breathing example” of a country that is not only plural, secular and diverse but also one that stands for economic development, innovation, growth, and prosperity.

9 President Murmu to launch several central and state government projects in Sikkim

She will inaugurate and lay the foundation for various central and state government projects in the virtual mode from Gangtok. President Murmu will virtually launch several projects from Gangtok this evening.

These include inauguration of the Atal Setu viaduct connecting West Bengal and Sikkim at Rangpo on National Highway 10; the two-lane Chisopani traffic tunnel includes approach roads in East Sikkim; and the Ganju Lama Girls Hostel, Ravangla in South Sikkim under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram.

10 Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurates Centre for Metabolic & Endocrine Disorders in Pune

Union Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh today inaugurated the Centre for Metabolic & Endocrine Disorders at Symbiosis University Hospital & Research Centre in Pune today.

Dr Jitendra Singh, who is also a renowned Diabetologist and the Life Patron of the coveted RSSDI (Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India) described the New Centre as a timely and much needed one in view of the increasing incidences of lifestyle diseases and metabolic disorders.

The Centre would focus on preventive screening of the most common disease – diabetes.
