1 Delhi airport introduces vending machines offering hygiene products for women

Women on the go will have to fly worriless as Delhi Airport has introduced multi-product feminine hygiene vending machines inside its premises. The state-of-the-art machines, installed outside women’s restrooms at terminal 2, will offer a wide range of sanitary products, including menstrual cups, tampons, sanitary pads, toilet seat covers, intimate wipes, and panty liners, said an official from the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).

The move was initiated with an aim to enhance women’s hygiene accessibility at the airport, the official added. “These state-of-the-art vending machines offer an array of essential products for women, catering to their diverse hygiene needs. In the future, this initiative will be extended to Terminal 3 and Terminal 1 as well, ensuring that women travellers across the airport have easy access to these essential products,” said DIAL in a statement issued on Monday.

2 Stefanos Tsitsipas clinches first title of season

Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas overcame a spirited comeback from Alex de Minaur to capture the ATP 250 title at Los Cabos on late Saturday night, thereby also getting his first trophy of the season.

As per ATP, Tsitsipas clinched the 10th title of his career by defeating Minaur by 6-3, 6-4.

3 Bhutan youngsters create electronic Dzongkha Braille for the visually impaired

A group of former students of the College of Science and Technology have created Bhutan's first-ever prototype of electronic Dzongkha Braille, The Bhutan Live reported. The device developed by former college students is called as Digital Dzongkha Braille Board.

Initially, it was a college project, however, the innovation of young people has evolved into a passion to help the visually impaired people in reading and writing Dzongkha, according to The Bhutan Live report.

4 Special art exhibition dedicates to G-20 member countries to commence in Bihar

In Bihar, special art exhibition dedicated to G-20 member countries will commence in the Bihar Museum, Patna from today. The title of the two-month-long exhibition is Together We Art and it will conclude on 7th October 2023.

Director General of Bihar Museum Anjani Kumar Singh today said the exhibition will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The DG said 29 countries including India are participating in the exhibition which is organized by the Union Art and Culture ministry as part of India’s presidency of G-20 countries. Mr. Singh said along with the commemoration of the foundation day a five month long Bihar Museum Biennale 2023 will also begin.

5 Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni appoints Hun Manet- as the new Prime Minister

ambodia's King Norodom Sihamoni has appointed former Prime minister Hun Sen's son - Hun Manet- as the new prime minister of the country. A royal decree was issued today by the King stating that he appoints Dr. Hun Manet as the prime minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia for the 7th mandate of the parliament.

While the King has appointed Hun Manet as the PM, the leader and his cabinet must win the confidence vote on August 22 to assume office.

During the Cambodian Elections 2023, Hun Sen's party - the Cambodian People's Party - won with a landslide victory. Days after their victory, former PM Hun Sen announced that he will be stepping down as the Prime Minister, after assuming office in 1998.

6 CBSE makes Health and Physical Education compulsory in all classes from 1 to XII

The government has informed that Yoga is recommended as an integral part of Health and Physical Education. In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Union Minister of state for Education Annapurna Devi said that CBSE has made Health and Physical Education compulsory in all classes from 1 to XII. She said that the board has directed schools to keep one period of Health and Physical Education for them each day. The minister further mentioned that the government has included Yoga training in the Study in India   program to encourage yoga seekers from abroad to obtain authentic yoga training in India.

7 Pramod Bhagat-Sukant Kadam pair wins gold in Four-Nation Para-badminton meet in England

World No. 1 men’s doubles pairing of Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam won a gold medal in SL3-SL4 category at the Four Nations Para-Badminton International in Sheffield, England.

Bhagat also secured a silver in the singles SL3 category as well as a silver in mixed doubles SL3- SU5 category with Manisha Ramdass. Kadam won a bronze in the singles SL4 category.

Bhagat and Kadam defeated the Indian pair of Deep Ranjan Bisoyee and Manoj Sarkar 21-17 21-17 to secure gold in the men’s doubles.

8 Prarthana Thombare clinches women's doubles title in Barcelona, Spain

Prarthana Thombare has clinched the doubles title at the women's tennis hardcourt event in Barcelona, Spain. The Asian Games bronze medallist, combined with Russian Anastasia Tikhonova, edged out France’s Estelle Cascino and Latvia’s Diana Marcinkevica 3-6, 6-1, 10-7 in the final. It is the second title of the year and 26th overall for Prarthana, who bagged bronze with Sania Mirza in 2014 at Incheon.

Siddhant Banthia and Sai Karteek Reddy won their second title this season in ITF men’s event in Astana, Kazakhstan. They defeated Estonia’s Daniil Glinka and Karl Kiur Saar 7-5, 6-7, 10-4 to lift the trophy in the hard-court event. It is the first crown for both the players who had triumphed in their first appearance as a team in an event in Jakarta in June.

9 Aditi Swami becomes 1st Indian to clinch individual World Title at World Archery Championships

Aditi Swami created history on Saturday by becoming the first-ever Indian to clinch the individual World Title at the World Archery Championships final in Berlin. Less than two months after clinching the junior world title, 17-year-old Aditi, became the senior world champion when she defeated Andrea Becerra of Mexico, 149-147 in the summit clash of the compound women's event. With the win, the Satara teenager became the first Indian world champion in an individual event at the Senior World Championships.

Soon after Aditi Swami's gold in the women's event, India's Ojas Deotale created history when he defeated Lukasz Przybylski of Poland 150-149 in a thrilling final to become the new world champion in Men's Individual compound event.
