Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated the memorial for former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Chennai's Marina Beach on Monday.

CM Stalin also inaugurated the renovated former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Annadurai's memorial, also located on Marina Beach.

An underground museum, 7D screens, touchscreen displays, selfie points, a library, highlights of the leader's life, and many other features are part of the new Karunanidhi Memorial.

2 PM Modi to virtually inaugurate world's first Vedic clock in Ujjain

The world's first Vedic clock, designed to showcase time according to the ancient Indian traditional Panchang, has been installed in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain district and is set for unveiling on March 1.

Scheduled for virtual inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Vedic clock stands tall on an 85-foot tower within Ujjain's Jantar Mantar, adjacent to the Government Jiwaji Observatory, according to a report in The Times of India.

This unique clock will exhibit information related to Vedic Hindu Panchang, planetary positions, Muhurat, astrological calculations, and predictions, and also indicate Indian Standard Time (IST) and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Time calculation is based on the duration from one sunrise to the next.

3 Tripura CM inaugurates 2nd State Level Shehri Samridhi Utsav in Agartala

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday inaugurated the 2nd State Level Shehri Samridhi Utsav organised by Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission in Children's Park, Agartala.

At the event, women from SHGs displayed traditional handmade products to the CM.

The programme, which was organised by the Tripura Urban Livelihood Misson, will continue until March 3.

The Chief Minister, while speaking to the media, expressed his happiness to attend the inaugural function of the 2nd State Level Shehri Samridhi Utsav and said that it gives a major boost to women's empowerment.

4 Election Commission sign MoUs with Bank association and Post Office for voter outreach

As part of its efforts to spread voter awareness, the Election Commission has tied up with the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) and the Department of Posts (DoP) to amplify its outreach to electors ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The EC signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with both the organisations in the presence of Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar on Monday. As part of the agreement, the IBA and DoP with its members and affiliated institutions or units will extend support in promoting voter education through their extensive network on a pro-bono basis, employing various interventions to empower citizens with knowledge about their electoral rights, processes and steps for registration and voting, the Election Commission said in a statement.

5 Adani Group unveils country’s first ammunition-missile manufacturing complex

In a first in the private sector, two facilities for the manufacture of ammunition and missiles were opened by Adani Defence and Aerospace in Kanpur on February 26.

The twin-facility complex, spread over 500 acres, was inaugurated by Army Chief Gen. Manoj Pande and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Speaking at the event, Gen. Pande said 32 variants of ammunition in 12 categories were identified for manufacture by the Indian industry in phase one. “All cases are likely to fructify in the next one year, as per the envisaged timelines. Approval has been already obtained for five additional ammunition categories to be developed in phase two,” Gen. Pande said on the ammunition indigenisation plan. “Simultaneously, MAKE programmes for developing new-generation ammunition, including electronic fuses currently not held in the inventory, are also being processed.”

6 Indian-American computer engineer honoured with Texas’ highest academic award

Indian origin trailblazing computer engineer and professor Ashok Veeraraghavan has been awarded the Edith and Peter O’Donnell Award in engineering, one of the highest academic honours in Texas.

The Texas Academy of Medicine, Engineering, Science and Technology (TAMEST), which presents this award to rising researchers in the state, said Veeraraghavan, professor of electrical and computer engineering at George R. Brown School of Engineering at Rice University, was chosen for his revolutionary imaging technology that seeks to make the invisible visible.

The award is given annually to star researchers in the state engaged in pathbreaking work in medicine, engineering, biological sciences, physical sciences and technology innovation.

8 India's ?rst septic tank cleaning robot strengthening Swatch Bharat campaign

India's first septic tank cleaning robot, offering an end-to-end solution to eliminate manual scavenging, is strengthening the Swachhata Abhiyan in different corners of the country. The technology called Homosep Atom solves manual cleaning methods and transforms them into robotic cleaning methods. It has been developed by the startup incubated in the Department of Science and Technology (DST)-Technology Business Incubator (TBI) of IIT Madras. Ministry of Science and  Technology in a statement said that it has reached 16 cities in different parts of India and empowers extensive blade cleanings, solid waste desilting, suction and storage at one device.

9 Defence Security Corps celebrates its 77th Raising Day

Defence Security Corps (DSC) is celebrating its 77th Raising Day today. The Corps was raised on this day in 1947 as ‘Defence Department Constabulary’. DSC troops have been providing security to various sensitive defence and civil installations across the length and breadth of the Country since 1947.
