The National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, under the Ministry of Ayush of the Government of India and Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine of the Ministry of Public Health of the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the establishment of an academic collaboration in Ayurveda and Thai traditional medicine in New Delhi.

The MoU was formalised at the 10th India-Thailand Joint Commission Meeting held at Hyderabad House, New Delhi on Tuesday. BK Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, and Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, Director General, Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine Thailand signed the MoU in the presence of other dignitaries during the event.

Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai's book 'Basic Structure and Republic' was released by the Archbishop of Changanacherry (Kerala), Mar Joseph Perumthottam, on Tuesday.

The unveiling of the book took place in the presence of the Minister for Water Resource Development, Co-Operation and Provedoria Subhash Shirodkar at the old Durbar Hall of Goa Raj Bhavan.

The first copy of the book was received by Shirodkar, which was presented by Mar Joseph Perumthottam. The first lady of Goa Rita Shreedharan Pillai also graced the occasion.

The Government had started implementation of two guarantees, free bus travel for women and enhancement of coverage under Aarogyasri from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh within 48 hours of Congress taking over the reins. The Chief Minister on Tuesday launched two more guarantees, refill of domestic LPG cylinders at ₹500 each and power supply up to 200 units a month free of cost for eligible families.

The bill seeks to provide effective measures to prevent and address offences related to the unfair means used in recruitment examinations for various posts under the state government, including autonomous bodies, authorities, boards, or corporations.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Praful Patel on Tuesday resigned as the Rajya Sabha MP four years ahead of the completion of his term. The 67-year-old leader, once a trusted aide of Sharad Pawar, is currently with the Ajit Pawar faction that has been recognised by the Election Commission as the ‘real’ NCP.

Patel was elected to the Rajya Sabha for a fifth term in July 2022, a year before the party split due to Ajit Pawar and his supporters joining the ruling Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra.

The government will organise 'Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye' in Higher Educational institutions across the country from tomorrow to ensure universal enlightened participation of youth in elections. Justice Lingappa Swamy (former HP HC Chief Justice & Karnataka HC Judge), Justice Sanjay Yadav(former Allahabad HC CJ) and Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi(former Karnataka HC CJ & Allahabad HC judge, present Chairperson of the Law Commission of India) are the judicial members.

Former civil servants Sushil Chandra(ex-CEC), Pankaj Kumar and Ajay Tirkey are appointed as non-judicial members of Lokpal.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Swaminarayan Medical College in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on Tuesday.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was also present during the inauguration ceremony.

The Swaminarayan Medical College committee elated with the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Patel in the ceremony.
