Chandrayaan-1 data suggests electrons from Earth forming water on Moon
Scientists analysing the remote sensing data from India's Chandrayaan-1 lunar mission have found that high energy electrons from the Earth may be forming water on the Moon.
The team led by researchers from the University of Hawai'i (UH) at Manoa in the US discovered that these electrons in Earth's plasma sheet are contributing to weathering processes -- breaking down or dissolving of rocks and minerals -- on the Moon's surface.

Tamil Nadu launches monthly financial scheme for woman family heads
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin Friday inaugurated the government’s much-awaited ‘Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam’ which promises to provide a monthly rights grant of Rs 1,000 to eligible woman heads of the family in the state.
The scheme, which is seen as a giant leap by the government towards gender equality, was inaugurated by CM Stalin at Pachaiyappan College in Kancheepuram, the birthplace of former Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK founder C N Annadurai on his 115th birth anniversary. The scheme was simultaneously launched in other district headquarters by the state cabinet ministers and senior DMK leaders.

Actor Rio Kapadia of 'Chak De! India' fame dies at 66
Veteran actor Rio Kapadia is no more. The actor who has acted in films like 'Chak De! India,' 'Happy New Year' and 'Mardaani' among others, died on September 14. His friend Faisal Malik confirmed his death news to IndiaToday.In. The actor was diagnosed with cancer last year. His cremation will take place on September 15 at Shiv Dham Shamshan Bhumi in Goregaon. The actor is survived by his wife, Maria Farah, kids Aman and Veer.
