1 E-auction of gifts presented to PM Narendra Modi to begin tomorrow

The e-auction of gifts presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin tomorrow. The auction will go on till the 2nd of October.

1,222 mementos will be E-auctioned during this period. The mementos include idols of Ganesh, Swami Vivekanand, Ram Mandir Temple, Netaji statue, painting, and sports equipment among others gifted to the Prime Minister.

Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, Culture Minister G. Kishan Reddy said, Mr. Narendra Modi, is the first Prime Minister of the country to auction all the gifts he receives for the noble cause of conserving the river Ganga through Namami Gange. He said, the lowest base price of the gift is 100 rupees and the highest base price is five lakh rupees.

2 Former President Ram Nath Kovind releases book titled 'Ambedkar and Modi: Reformer’s Ideas Performer’s Implementation' in New Delhi

Former President Ram Nath Kovind released a book titled Ambedkar and Modi: Reformer’s Ideas Performer’s Implementation in New Delhi today. The book illustrates life, works and achievements of Dr. B.R Ambedkar. It presents a convergence between the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar and New India’s development journey. Focus has been laid on infrastructure, education, socio-economic mobility, gender equality, and self-reliance in the twelve chapters of the book.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kovind said that Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's vision of Aatmnirbhar Bharat and India First are being carried forward by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Recalling his visit to the village of Babasaheb Ambedkar, he said that information technology is being used to empower women and depressed sections of society. He added that Mr Modi is a true follower of Babasaheb, and even as Chief Minister of Gujarat, he organised Samvidhan Gaurav Yatra as a mark of respect to Babasaheb.

3 Vinesh Phogat wins bronze in World Wrestling Championships in Serbia

Vinesh Phogat has become the first Indian woman wrestler to win two medals at the World Championships after clinching a bronze in 53 kilogram category in Belgrade, Serbia on September 14.

The Commonwealth Games 2022 gold medalist defeated reigning European champion Emma Malmgren of Sweden. It was a remarkable comeback for three-time CWG gold-medalist Vinesh after her shock qualification round defeat as she beat Swedish opponent Malmgren 8-0 in the bronze medal round.

Vinesh had made it to the bronze play-off through the repechage round after losing to Khulan Batkhuyag of Mongolia, in her first bout on Tuesday, September 13.

4 PM Modi greets the nation on the occasion of Engineers Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted all engineers on the occasion of Engineers Day which is being celebrated on September 15.

In a tweet, PM Modi said, our nation is blessed to have a skilled and talented pool of engineers who are contributing to nation building. He said, the Government is working to enhance infrastructure for studying engineering including building more engineering colleges.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, on Engineers Day, the nation remembers the pathbreaking contribution of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. He hoped the contribution of Sir M. Visvesvaraya will keep inspiring generations of future engineers to distinguish themselves.

5 Cabinet approves signing of Guarantees for hosting FIFA U-17 women's World Cup 2022 in India

The Cabinet today approved the signing of guarantees for hosting FIFA Under-17 Womens' Football World Cup. Briefing media in New Delhi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said, India will host the event from 11th to 30th October. The Football matches will be played in Navi Mumbai, Goa and Bhubaneswar. He added that teams from 16 countries will participate in the event. Mr. Thakur said, in 2017, India hosted the FIFA Under-17 Mens' Football World Cup.

6 Union Minister Jitendra Singh launches Swachhata Portal for Special Campaign 2.0

Minister of State for Personnel, Pension and Public Grievances Dr. Jitendra Singh today launched Swachhata Portal for the Special Campaign 2.0. The campaign which is to begin on 2nd October is dedicated to Swachhata and reducing the pendency of work in Government offices.

On the occasion, Dr. Singh said,  the scope and mandate of Special Campaign 2.0 from 2nd October to 31st October 2022 has been expanded and all regional offices have been included in the campaign, apart from all Ministries, Departments  and attached offices. The Minister said, to date, more than 67 thousand  Sites have been identified by Ministries and  Departments for conducting cleanliness campaigns and it is likely to touch one lakh sites by the end of this month. Earlier, there were only six thousand sites in the first special campaign undertaken in October 2021.

7 Election Commission releases new digital publication ‘BLO e-Patrika’

The Election Commission today released a new digital publication ‘BLO e-Patrika’ at an interactive session held with Booth Level Officers BLOs spread across the States in India.

Over 350 BLOs joined through video-conferencing from the office of Chief Electoral Officers CEOs in States and UTs and 50 BLOs from the nearby states Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi joined the launch event physically in New Delhi.

The BLOs participated enthusiastically during the interaction with the Commission sharing their experiences, challenges they come across while performing their duties and success stories. Today's event was a first-of-its-kind direct interaction by the Commission with the BLOs across the country.

8 Union Cabinet approves inclusion of tribes of five States in the Scheduled Tribes category

Union Cabinet has approved the inclusion of some castes of Chattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh in the list of Scheduled Tribes.

Briefing media in New Delhi, Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda said, it was a long pending demand of these castes which has been fulfilled. He said the move will help them availing welfare benefits.

9 Filing of nominations for Padma awards 2023 to end on Sept 15

September 15, i.e, today is the last date for nominations for Padma Awards 2023. The online nominations or recommendations for the Padma Awards 2023 to be announced on the eve of Republic Day 2023, were opened on 1st May this year.

10 PM Modi expresses optimism as Gujarat signs MoU with Vedanta & Foxconn Group to set up semiconductor and display FAB manufacturing unit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the MoU signed between the Gujarat Government and the Vedanta-Foxconn Group for the manufacture of semiconductor will create a significant impact to boost economy and jobs.

In a tweet, Mr. Modi said, the MoU of 1.54 lakh crore rupees, is an important step towards India’s semi-conductor manufacturing ambitions. He said, this will create a huge ecosystem for ancillary industries and help the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
