1 Nation observes Janjatiya Gaurav Divas in recognition to contribution of tribal community in country’s progress

The Nation is celebrating Janjatiya Gaurav Divas today to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the freedom fighter and tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The Centre has marked 15th November as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, recognising the importance of keeping tribal history alive. Over the years, this observance has expanded into Janjatiya Gaurav Week, celebrated across ministries and states with cultural programs, exhibitions, and educational activities that bring the legacy of tribal heroes to life.

Home Minister Amit Shah paid homage to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary on Saturday. In a social media post, Mr Shah said that Birsa Munda is not only the pride of tribal society, but of the entire country. The Minister added, today the whole country is joyfully celebrating Janjatiya Gaurav Divas and that the nation bow to his unwavering resolve towards the freedom movement and the protection of the motherland.

2 Punjab Becomes First State to Implement Amended Bharat Net Scheme Statewide

Punjab has become the first state in the country to implement the amended Bharat Net Scheme throughout the State. With this the border state can be monitored live from any location in the country.

Receiving the award for the implementation of the scheme, Chief Secretary, KAP Sinha said that internet and broadband services have been provided in the 43 shadow areas in the State with only one village remaining. By the end of November month, each and every village would be brought under the ambit of the scheme. He received the award from CGM, BSNL, Punjab Circle, Ajay Kumar Kararha, yesterday.

Notably, the Bharat Net Scheme aims to provide broadband connectivity to all of the country’s Gram Panchayats besides the households and the institutions. It also envisions e – health & e – governance services in rural sectors.

4 Union MoS for Health and Family Welfare, Smt. Anupriya Patel delivers Keynote Address at the 2nd DHR-ICMR Health Research Excellence Summit 2025

Speaking at the event, Smt. Patel highlighted that India’s health research ecosystem has witnessed remarkable strengthening under the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. “Over the past decade, India has emerged as a major player in health research. Initiatives such as MedTech Mitra and innovations like Rotavac and the COVID-19 vaccines stand as testament to India’s growing prominence in the global health research landscape,” she stated.

Smt. Patel further noted that evidence-based policymaking remains a guiding principle of the Government. She stressed that clinical guidelines and quality standards must be accessible to all healthcare professionals to ensure affordable and equitable healthcare for every citizen.

5 India, Nepal ink deal to boost rail trade connectivity after meeting

India and Nepal have agreed to facilitate movement of rail-based freight between Jogbani (India) and Biratnagar (Nepal), including bulk cargo, which will boost rail trade connectivity between the two nations, the commerce ministry said in a statement.

The decision was taken at a bilateral meeting between Union commerce minister Piyush Goyal and Nepal’s minister for industry, commerce and supplies Anil Kumar Sinha in New Delhi on Thursday, it added.

This liberalization extends to key transit corridors- Kolkata-Jogbani, Kolkata–Nautanwa (Sunauli), and Visakhapatnam–Nautanwa (Sunauli), thereby strengthening multimodal trade connectivity between the two countries and Nepal’s trade with third countries, it said.

6 Odisha to host Global Energy Leaders’ Summit in December to shape India’s energy roadmap

The Government of Odisha will host the Global Energy Leaders’ Summit (GELS) 2025 in Puri from December 5–7, bringing together national and international stakeholders to discuss India’s evolving energy landscape. The event will focus on strategies to meet rising power demand, ensure reliable supply, and drive the transition toward sustainable and technology-driven energy systems.

The logo and website of the summit were launched in New Delhi by Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik and Odisha Deputy Chief Minister (Energy) Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. The summit will be held under the theme “Powering India: Sufficiency, Balance, Innovation.”

Speaking on the announcement, Shripad Yesso Naik said, “Energy sufficiency is not only about meeting demand but ensuring reliability and resilience. GELS will play an important role in achieving Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of sustainability and cooperative federalism and for India to achieve Net Zero by 2070.” He added that the summit “reflects India’s commitment to an innovation-driven, sustainable energy future.”

7 Army's Op 'Akhand Prahar' showcases strength of integrated combat power

Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, reviewed the operational preparedness of Konark Corps during exercise Akhand Prahar, conducted in the Desert Sector as part of the Tri-Services Exercise Trishul.

The Indian Army conducted exercise Akhand Prahar in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer.

The exercise validated the full-spectrum combat readiness of Konark Corps through integrated employment of all arms and services -- from mechanised and infantry manoeuvres to the execution of land operations by the RUDRA Brigade, Special Heliborne Operations, and coordinated Attack Helicopter missions by Army Aviation.

9 Centre to set up 100 new Sainik schools under PPP model

The Narendra Modi government has decided to set up 100 Sainik Schools across the country on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday.

Speaking via video conference at the inauguration function of Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School (MRCSSS) and Sagar Organic Plant, he said these schools will open the path for children from several districts of Gujarat to serve in the armed forces.

The Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School (MRCSSS) has been built at a cost of Rs 50 crore and is equipped with facilities such as smart classrooms, hostels, a library and a canteen, a government release said.

10 C-DOT Partners with NAM InfoCom for “Development of Mission Critical Communication System (MCX) Solution”

The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) signs Agreement with M/s NAM InfoCom Private Limited, for Joint Development of Mission Critical Communication System (MCX)Solution, marking a significant step towards strengthening India’s indigenous communication infrastructure for public safety and emergency response.

Under C-DOT’s MCX Alliance, CDOT has engaged with 10 different organizations, mainly startups to collaborate and develop the MCX ecosystem in the country. The partnership aims to deliver a state-of-the-art, fully indigenous MCX solution to enhance India’s self-reliance in the field of mission-critical communications. The MCX system has been developed in line with 3GPP standards to support Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT), Mission Critical Data (MCData), and Mission Critical Video (MCVideo) services. This solution will provide secure, reliable, high-quality, low latency, realtime audio/video communication tailored to work around existing 4G and 5G mobile networks. The MCX solution will be useful for Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR) communications and help disaster management agencies, Law and Order enforcement agencies for efficient operations.
