1 Nation celebrates sixth anniversary of surgical strike today

The nation celebrates sixth anniversary of surgical strike today. On this day in 2016, the Indian Army launched surgical strikes against terrorist camps situated in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Eleven days after the Uri attack that claimed the lives of 18 soldiers, the Indian Army carried out Surgical Strikes on the night of 28 and 29 September 2016, inflicting heavy casualties on terrorists.  Indian Army including the commandos from various units of the Para (Special Forces) units deployed in Jammu and Kashmir carried out raids across the border on multiple targets. All these targets were launch pads for terrorists for infiltrating into Jammu and Kashmir to carry out attacks against military and civilian targets. With this action, India gave the befitting message that it can strike on terror launchpad by crossing the border if the need arises.

Recalling the night of the surgical strike, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an interview said that the strike was planned as there was a rage building up within him after the Uri attack.

2 Chandigarh airport to be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh today

Chandigarh airport will be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary today. In his Mann ki Baat Programme on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced this while paying rich tributes to freedom fighters. Mr Modi has said that the decision has been taken as a tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Prime Minister had also congratulated the people of Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana and of the entire country for this decision.

A new series of digital comic books of Motu-Patlu has been released to create awareness among the young generation about importance of taxes in a fun manner. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman released the digital comic books on the occasion of the Finance Minister’s Award Ceremony 2022 in New Delhi yesterday. The comic book was released in five languages - English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Gujarati developed by Income Tax Department.

6 President Droupadi Murmu to inaugurate Integrated Cryogenic Engines Manufacturing Facility of HAL in Bengaluru today

President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the Integrated Cryogenic Engines Manufacturing Facility of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bengaluru today. The Cryogenic engines are used by ISRO for its satellite launch operations. At HAL, the President will also lay the foundation stone of the South Zonal Institute of Virology virtually. Ms Murmu will also inaugurate St Joseph University and in the evening attend a Civic reception hosted by the State Government in her honour.

Yesterday, President inaugurated the new campus of  Indian Institute of Information Technology in Dharwad, Karnataka. Speaking on the occasion, the President laid emphasis on the role knowledge society can play in making India a vishwa guru when the new India will emerge. She said institutions like Triple IT can mold youngsters to be leaders who can drive research and innovation in the areas of computer science, data analytics, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, data science, digitalisation, nano technology and biotechnology.

7 Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission completes one year of its launch

Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission today completed one year of its launch. The scheme is transforming India's Digital Healthcare landscape. Till now, over 24.38 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account ABHA IDs have been created, over one lakh 59 thousand health facilities have been registered, over 90 thousand healthcare professionals have been registered and over 1.36 crore health records have been linked.

Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission one year ago today to give benefits of digital health services to the citizens of the country. He said, in the age of technology, today Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is emerging as a revolutionary step in the health sector.

Mr Mandaviya said, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is building a health model that is holistic, easily accessible and time-saving. He said, it is enhancing the ease of living for patients and healthcare service providers. He called upon everyone to become a part of the digital health ecosystem.

8 MoS Health Dr Bharti Pravin addresses 67th Foundation Day celebrations of AIIMS in New Delhi

Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharti Pravin Pawar has said that India's health care system has shown great efficiency not only in providing diagnostic and management facilities but also in minimizing mortality and maximizing recovery.

She said this while addressing the 67th Foundation Day celebrations of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi on Sunday Dr. Pawar said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central government is working holistically with an emphasis on preventive care while giving priority to tertiary healthcare.

9 NTA to declare CUET-PG results

The National Testing Agency will declare the Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET-PG) result today. In a tweet, UGC Chairman, Prof. M Jagadesh Kumar said, the result will be announced by 4 PM.

The CUET (PG) has been conducted for admission in PG programmes in the Central Universities. As many as 66 universities have adopted this entrance test for admissions in the academic session 2022-23.  

Meanwhile, the UGC has instructed universities to create student-friendly portal for admission through CUET PG score.

10 MoHUAM to launch Swachh Toycathon, a unique competition to make toys from waste

Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry will launch Swachh Toycathon today, a unique competition to make toys from waste. The competition will be open to individuals and groups to bring forth innovation in toy designs using dry waste. It will focus on efficient designs that can be replicated at a larger scale, and toys that comply with minimum safety standards. The competition will be hosted on MyGov’s innovate India portal. Center for Creative Learning, IIT Gandhinagar is the knowledge partner for the initiative.

The demand for toys in the country is increasing due to strong economic growth, rising disposable incomes, and several innovations for the junior population. National Action Plan for Toys 2020 was introduced to promote the Indian toy industry including traditional handicrafts and handmade toys with the objective of establishing India as a global Toy hub. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade along with 14 Ministries of Central Government is currently implementing various aspects of the National Action Plan for Toys.
