The first International Financial Structure Working Group meeting under the G-20 Indian Presidency was inaugurated in Chandigarh today by Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Food Processing Industries Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras. On this occasion, the Union Agriculture Minister said, India is developing rapidly due to science and innovation, as both are closely related to the future of India.

The theme of India's G-20 chairmanship, "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or 'One Earth, One Family, One Future', underlines the message of equitable development and a shared future for all. India's endeavour will be to facilitate constructive dialogue, share knowledge and work together towards the collective aspiration for a secure, peaceful and prosperous world.

2 Udyan Utsav 2023 : President Droupadi Murmu to grace opening of Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan

President Droupadi Murmu today graced the opening of the Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan - Udyan Utsav. The Gardens will open for the general public on the 31st of January and will remain open till the 26th of March, except on Mondays which are maintenance days. Among several other attractions, the visitors will be able to see specially cultivated Tulips of twelve unique varieties which are expected to bloom in phases. This time the Gardens will be open for about two months.
 
On the occasion of the celebrations of 75 years of Independence as Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the President has given a common name to the Rashtrapati Bhavan gardens as Amrit Udyan.

3 Govt launches special mobile application for Khelo India Youth Games 2022

Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has launched a special mobile application for the Khelo India Youth Games 2022. Through this App, the participating athletes, coaches, support staff, and officials from all states participating in the Games can get all information about the Games. Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in a statement said that this is the first time that a dedicated App has been launched for the Khelo India Youth Games. The App has a dedicated athlete login and supports the athlete right from the time of his or her registration into the games.

4 G20 International Financial Architecture Working Group meeting to begin on Jan 30 in Chandigarh

The first G20 International Financial Architecture Working Group meeting under the G20 Indian Presidency will be held on Monday and day after in Chandigarh.

Briefing the media persons on Sunday at Chandigarh, Anu P Mathai, Economic Advisor, Department of Economic Affairs said that International Financial Architecture Working Group is one of the important workstreams under the G20 Finance Track with a focus on strengthening the international financial architecture. It also aims to address multiple challenges faced by vulnerable countries.

The nation will pay homage to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 75th death anniversary today. The day is also observed as Martyrs' Day.

8 MoU signed with South Africa to introduce 12 African Cheetahs into India annually; first batch to be flown in next month

India and South Africa on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding to introduce 12 African Cheetahs annually over the next eight to ten year. In terms of the agreement, an initial batch of 12 cheetahs will be flown from South Africa to India next month. The cats will join eight Cheetah brought in India from Namibia last year.

The initiative to reintroduce cheetah to a former range state is being carried out following the local extinction of this iconic species due to over hunting and loss of habitat in the last century. The terms of the MoU will be reviewed every five years to ensure it remains relevant.
