Indian Railways has increased the limit of online booking of tickets through IRCTC website and app. The Railways Ministry said, it has decided to increase the limit of booking maximum six tickets in a month to twelve tickets by a user ID which is not Aadhaar-linked. The Ministry has also increased the limit of booking maximum twelve tickets in a month to 24 tickets by a user ID which is Aadhaar-linked.
AIR correspondent reports that at present, maximum six tickets in a month can be booked online on IRCTC website by a user ID which is not Aadhaar-linked and maximum 12 tickets in a month by a user ID which is Aadhaar-linked.
HM Amit Shah to inaugurate National Tribal Research Institute in New Delhi
Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the National Tribal Research Institute in New Delhi today. The inaugural event will be part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebration by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. NTRI will be a premier national level institute and become the nerve-centre of tribal concerns, issues and matters in academic, executive and legislative fields.
It will collaborate and network with reputed research institutes, universities, organizations as well as academic bodies and resource centres. It wil monitor projects of Tribal Research Institutes, Centres of Excellence and set up norms for improvement in the quality of research and training.
Its other activities would be to provide policy inputs to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs as well as State Welfare Departments, design studies and programmes that improve or support socio-economic aspects of tribal lifestyles. Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju and other Union Ministers will grace the occasion.
ITBP summited the Mount Abi Gamin peak in Uttarakhand
New Delhi. An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) team of mountaineers scaled the Mount Abi Gamin peak (24,131 feet) on 2 June, 2022. The team reached the base camp on 4 June, 2022. This ITBP Northern Frontier mountaineering expedition was launched on 9 May, 2022 from Dehradun.
The team was led by Deputy Commandant Kuldeep Kumar of the 2nd Battalion ITBP. As many as 14 members of the team and 4 High Altitude Sherpas scaled the peak today on 2 June, 2022 at 1230 hrs.
Abi Gamin is located in the central Himalayas at the culminating point of the Zaskar Range. It is situated on the watershed of the upper Alaknanda and Dhauli rivers between the famous Mana and Niti passes on the Indo-Tibetan border.
China launches third crewed mission to new space station
China successfully launched another manned mission to its new space station on Sunday, sending three astronauts who will continue construction work for six months, China's Manned Space Agency (CMSA) announced.
The astronauts lifted off on the Shenzhou-14 spacecraft at 10:44 a.m. local time, launched by a Long March 2F rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert, Inner Mongolia.
The team will live and work at the Tiangong Space Station's Tianhe core module for six months before returning to Earth in December. Tiangong means Heavenly Palace.

The main purpose of Jan Samarth portal is to encourage inclusive growth and development of various sectors by guiding and providing them with the right type of government benefits through simple and easy digital processes.

Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurates Food Laboratory of FSSAI at Raxaul in Bihar
Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya today inaugurated the National Food Laboratory of FSSAI at Raxaul in Bihar.
This laboratory has been established under the Indo-Nepal bilateral agreement to reduce the time in the testing of imported food samples brought into Raxaul from Nepal. Earlier, all the imported samples having legal sanctity were being sent to National Food Laboratory at Kolkata, for testing.
On this occasion, Mr. Mandaviya said, the exporters from Nepal will find it easier to export more and more food products into India after the inauguration of a food testing laboratory in Raxaul. The Minister said, the laboratory is likely to get accreditation from National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) by July-August this year and will start the analysis of the import samples under the product categories of Cereal and Cereal products, Fat and Oil, Spices and Condiments, Fruits and vegetable products and Packaged drinking.
President Kovind inaugurates Sant Kabir Academy and Research Centre in UP
President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated Sant Kabir Academy and Research Centre at Sant Kabir Nagar in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
He said the life of Kabir is an epitome of human virtue and his teachings are still relevant even after 650 years today. He described Kabir’s life as an ideal example of communal solidarity.
The President, in his address, said Kabir emphasised that humanity can only be served by having an attitude of affection towards the downtrodden. Though Kabir did not have formal education, he acquired knowledge by the company of saints, he said adding Kabir’s teaching had shaken the conscience of the fragmented society. Kabir spread the message of love, devotion and harmony in the tumultuous times when India faced the wrath of foreign invaders, he added. Kabir communicated directly to the masses in their local dialect and it was necessary to awaken the society which was divided on the lines of caste and creed, he said.

1.2 meter Trisonic wind tunnel at NAL Bengaluru completes 55 years of glorious service
The 1.2 meter Trisonic wind tunnel at National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) in Bengaluru has completed its 55 years of glorious service to the nation. Built between 1963 and 1967, the first blowdown test was conducted on May 29, 1967.
It has achieved an important milestone of 55,000 blowdowns. The highest speed of this tunnel is Mach 4.0 which is four times the speed of sound. The Indian Space Research Organisation, ISRO and Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) have tested their launch vehicles, missiles and aircraft here. ISRO has tested ASLV, PSLV, SLV, SSLV, GSLV, RLV and Gaganyaan satellite launch vehicles in the tunnel.
DRDO has tested Agni, Akaash, Prithvi, Pralay, SRSAM, LRSAM, ASTRA, NAG, Brahmos, Nirbhay missiles and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in the tunnel. The nation’s first Light Combat Aircraft Tejas was conceived at this facility. Mirage 2000, Sukhoi 30, Jaguar, MiG aircraft were successfully integrated with weapons and tested in the tunnel.

He will also release special series of 1 rupees, 2 rupees, 5 rupees, 10 rupees and 20 rupees coins. These special series of coins will have the theme of the logo of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and will also be easily identifiable to the visually impaired persons.The programme will also be organised simultaneously at 75 locations across the country and each location will be connected through virtual mode with the main venue.
