Ramesh Bais appointed new Governor of Maharashtra; Former Supreme Court Judge Justice S Abdul Nazeer to be new Governor of Andhra Pradesh

President Droupadi Murmu has accepted the resignations of Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Lt. Governor of Ladakh Radha Krishnan Mathur. Now, Governor of Jharkhand Ramesh Bais will be the new Governor of Maharashtra, while Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brigadier (Dr.) B.D. Mishra has been appointed as the new Lt. Governor of Ladakh. Eleven other states' Governor and Lt. Governor also has been reshuffled.

In an official release of President's Secretariat said, Justice (Retd.) S. Abdul Nazeer has been appointed for Andhra Pradesh and Governor of Chhattisgarh Sushri Anusuiya Uikye will take charge of Governor of Manipur. Biswa Bhusan Harichandan will be the new Governor of Chhattisgarh. It said, Lakshman Prasad Acharya to Sikkim, C.P. Radhakrishnan to Jharkhand, Shiv Pratap Shukla to Himachal Pradesh, Gulab Chand Kataria to Assam, Governor of Manipur La.



India to organise 12th World Hindi Conference in Fiji

The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, in partnership with the Government of Fiji, is organising the 12th World Hindi Conference from the 15th to 17th of February, 2023 in Fiji.
 
The High Commissioner of India, Gopal Baglay, extended his warm wishes to the five-member delegation from Sri Lanka that will be participating in the conference. The delegation includes Prof. Lakshman Senevrathne, Prof. Upul Ranjith Hewawitanagamage, and three others.

The High Commissioner emphasised the importance of the Hindi language in bringing people from different nations closer together. The 11th World Hindi Conference was held in Mauritius in 2018.



PM Modi dedicates to nation, 246 kilometre Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section of Delhi Mumbai Expressway

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation, the 246 km Delhi - Dausa - Lalsot section of the Delhi Mumbai Expressway on Sunday. He also laid the foundation stone for 247 kilometres of National Highway projects to be developed at a cost of more than 5,940 crore rupees. The Prime Minister’s emphasis on the building of excellent road infrastructure as an engine of growth, development and connectivity in New India is being realised by the construction of a number of ongoing world-class Expressways across the country.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister expressed pride in dedicating the first phase of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to the nation. He underlined that this is one of the most advanced expressways in the world which presents a grand picture of developing India.



PM Modi inaugurates year-long celebrations commemorating 200th birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati; Says, uplifting poor & marginalised has become top priority of his govt

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the country is witnessing progress with non-discriminatory policies and efforts. He said, today the service of the poor, backward and downtrodden is the first yagya for the country. Mr Modi cited housing, medical treatment, and women empowerment in this regard. Prime Minister said this while inaugurating the year-long celebrations commemorating the 200th birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati in Delhi. He said, during the course of Amrit Kaal, the nation has the same priorities that Maharishi Dayanand envisioned. Prime Minister said, uplifting the poor and marginalised has become the top priority. Regarding women empowerment, he pointed out that the daughters of the country are also flying Rafale fighter planes today. Mr Modi said, New Education policy promotes modern education with emphasis on Indianness as taught by Maharishi Dayanand.  



PM Narendra Modi greets people on occasion of World Radio Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted people on the occasion of World Radio Day today. In a tweet, Mr Modi extended his greetings to all radio listeners, RJs and all others associated with the broadcasting eco-system on this special occasion. He wished that may the Radio keep brightening lives through innovative programmes and showcasing human creativity. Mr Modi asked the people to share their inputs about the day for the 98th Mann Ki Baat programme on MyGov, NaMo App.  The next episode of monthly programme will be broadcast on the 26th of this month. 



PM Modi inaugurates new campus of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy in Mumbai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the new campus of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy at Marol in Mumbai. He was accompanied by the head of the Dawoodi Bohra community, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin. Mr. Modi unveiled the inaugural plaque and officially inaugurated the Arabic Academy with a ceremonial untying of the ribbon.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Modi said the Bohra community is a rich example of how traditions and modernity can go hand in hand. He said the community is very aligned to the principles of the new education policy that enables learning in regional language. The Prime Minister also lauded the community for prioritizing women education and upgrading their syllabus as per the need of the hour.



India offers great opportunities for investment in different sectors, says PM after inaugurating Global Investors Summit in Lucknow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, the world's prosperity and bright future is embedded in India prosperity. Mr Modi was speaking after inaugurating the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 in Lucknow today. Mr Modi said, as a market, India is now becoming seamless and government procedures are getting simplified. He said, it is also reflected in the recent Union budget of the government. He said, today there are great opportunities to invest in different sectors in India including Health, education, green growth, and social infrastructure. He said, India is carrying out reforms not out of compulsion, but out of conviction.

Mentioning about the emerging global economic growth of the country, Prime Minister said, despite facing several global challenges including COVID pandemic and Russia-Ukraine conflict, India became the fastest growing economy in the world. He said, the country showed resilience and recovery during the difficult period and the reason behind it is the growing confidence of the citizen of India.



Third ASEAN Digital Ministers meeting approves India-ASEAN Digital Work Plan 2023

India-ASEAN Digital Work Plan 2023 has been approved at the third ASEAN Digital Ministers meeting in New Delhi yesterday, February 10. 

The meeting was held at a virtual platform with the theme of “Synergy Towards a Sustainable Digital Future”, to strengthen the India-ASEAN relations in the field of Information and Communication Technologies. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology said the work plan includes capacity building and knowledge sharing in emerging areas in the field of Information and Communication Technologies such as Artificial Intelligence in Cyber Security. 



Govt appoints two new Supreme Court judges, takes top court's strength to full

The Central government has appointed two new Supreme Court judges, taking the top court's strength to full. 

In a tweet, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju announced the development and said two high court chief justices were on Friday elevated to the Supreme Court, bringing the total strength of the Apex Court to its maximum of 34 judges. 



3rd edition of Khelo India National Winter Games begins at Gulmarg

he 3rd edition of the Khelo India National Winter Games began at Gulmarg yesterday, February 10, with a message by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the participating players.

The mega sports event was declared open in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Information & Broadcasting, Anurag Singh Thakur.

During the biggest winter sports tournament, more than 1500 Athletes from all over the country will compete in 11 different winter sports disciplines. Union Sports Minister, Shri Anurag Thakur lauded the J&K Government for developing sports facilities at the grassroots level and achieving unprecedented progress in the sports sector in a short span of time.
