SSC to conduct multi-tasking staff examination in 13 regional languages in addition to Hindi and English
In a landmark decision, Department of Personnel and Training has approved the conduct of the Staff Selection Commission Multitasking (non-technical) Staff (SSC MTS) examination, 2022 and CHSLE Examination, 2022 in 13 regional languages in addition to Hindi and English. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said this historic decision has been taken at the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give impetus to participation of local youth and encourage regional languages. He said this action is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to ensure that everyone gets an equal opportunity to apply for job and that no one is disenfranchised or placed at a disadvantage because of the language barrier.

India Steel 2023, a conference and exhibition on the steel industry will begin in Mumbai today. Union Minister of State for Steel, Mr. Faggan Singh Kulaste will inaugurate the conference, being jointly organised by the Steel Ministry, the Commerce Ministry and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

President Droupadi Murmu says villages are basic units to develop the entire country; confers National Panchayat Awards
Acknowledging the efforts of women, President Droupadi Murmu has said, the holistic development of society is possible only with the growing participation of women. The President today conferred upon National Panchayat Awards and inaugurated the National Conference on Incentivisation of Panchayats in New Delhi. Addressing the gathering, Ms Murmu said, women should have the right to make decisions for themselves, for their families, and for the welfare of society. She urged women to actively participate in the work of the Gram Panchayats.

Addressing the India-Russia Business Dialogue 2023 in New Delhi this afternoon, Dr Jaishankar underlined that it has been among the steadiest of the major relationships of the world in the contemporary era. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov was also present on the occasion. The External Affairs Minister stressed the need to address the trade imbalance. He said that India and Russia have crossed the bilateral trade target of 30 billion dollars before the target year of 2025. He pointed out that these new volumes have created a trade imbalance.

Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda to launch Marketing, Logistics Development for PTP-NER scheme in Manipur
Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda will today launch Marketing and Logistics Development for Promotion of Tribal Products from North-Eastern Region (PTP-NER) scheme in Manipur. The scheme has been introduced for the benefit of Scheduled Tribes of the North-Eastern Region. It has the vision to strengthen livelihood opportunities for tribal artisans through increased efficiency in procurement, logistics and marketing of tribal products from North Eastern States.
The scheme will apply to the States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim. As part of the scheme, it is planned to initiate empanelment of tribal artisans from North Eastern Region by organizing 68 Tribal Artisan Melas from today onwards in various districts of the region.
President Droupadi Murmu to inaugurate National Panchayat Awards Week on April 17
President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the National Panchayat Awards Week and confer the National Panchayat Awards at the ‘National Conference on Incentivisation of Panchayats-cum-Award Ceremony’ in New Delhi tomorrow. On the occasion, the President will also address more than one thousand 500 delegates from across the country.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj will be celebrating National Panchayat Awards Week commencing tomorrow to the 21st of this month, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) 2.0 in the run-up to the National Panchayati Raj Day scheduled on 24th April. The Ministry has conceptualized a series of Thematic Conferences based on the theme of “Panchayaton ke Sankalpon ki Siddhi ka Utsav” to celebrate this monumental occasion. The Ministry said that under the series, five National Conferences covering nine themes under Localisation of Sustainable Development Goals through Panchayati Raj Institutions and Way Forward for 2047 will be organised during the Week Celebrations.
G20 Meeting of Agricultural Chief Scientists to start at Varanasi on Monday
G20 Meeting of Agricultural Chief Scientists (MACS) will start at Varanasi on Monday. The three-day meeting is being organised by the Department of Agricultural Research & Education (DARE) and Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. About 80 foreign delegates from G20 Member States will participate in the event.
Dr. Himanshu Pathak, DG, Indian Council for Agriculture Research told AIR News that this is the 100th event related to G20.
