MoS for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar launches 3rd Semicon India future design roadshow at IIT Delhi
Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar today launched the third Semicon India future design roadshow at IIT Delhi. During the roadshow, global semiconductor leaders will exchange their visions to catalyse the semiconductor ecosystem in India.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Chandrasekhar said, the country's semiconductor sector offers wide-ranging opportunities as it is expected to grow to 110 billion US dollars by the year 2030. Highlighting the role of Startups in the nation's progress, he said, there has been a quantum jump in the number of startups operating in India. He said, in 2013-14 only 500 startups were operating in India which has now increased to over 91 thousand. The Minister said, the government is committed to building a strong ecosystem for the semiconductor and electronics industry. He added that the government has announced incentives worth Rupees 76 thousand crores for semiconductor manufacturing in the country to fulfil the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
1st Ministerial meeting of India-EU Trade and Technology Council to be held in Brussels on 16th May
The first Ministerial meeting of the India-EU Trade and Technology Council will be held in Brussels on 16th May. The meeting will be co-chaired on the Indian side by the Ministers for External Affairs, Commerce and Industry, and Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology.
Trade and Technology Council was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of European Commission Ursula von der Leyen during Ms Leyen's visit to India in April last year. Both sides established three Working Groups under the Council. These are Working Group on Strategic Technologies, Digital Governance, and Digital Connectivity, Working Group on Green and Clean Energy Technologies, and Working Group on Trade, Investment and Resilient Value Chains.

Girls have outshined boys in the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE class 12th examinations’ result. Girls with 90.68 pass percentage have done better than the boys. Class-12 Boys pass percentage stood at 84.67.

ISSF World Cup: India’s Rhythm Sangwan wins bronze medal in Women’s 10 metre air pistol event in Baku
India’s Rhythm Sangwan has won the bronze medal in the women’s 10-metre air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup 2023 for rifle and pistol shooters in Baku, Azerbaijan.
She scored 219.1 in the final to finish third behind Anna 2016 Rio Olympic champion Anna Korakaki of Greece and 2004 Athens Olympics gold medallist Olena Kostevych of Ukraine.
It was Sangwan’s first individual senior medal at the shooting World Cup.
ISSF World Cup: Indian pair Divya TS and Sarabjot Singh win gold in 10m air pistol mixed team event
In the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup being held at Baku in Azerbaijan, Indian pair Divya TS and Sarabjot Singh won gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event today.
The Indian pair defeated the Serbian legends Damir Mikec and Zorana Arunovic in the final match pulling off a nerve-wracking 16-14 win. It was a second ISSF World Cup gold for Sarabjot who had won the individual air pistol in Bhopal in March this year. On the other hand, it was the first senior medal for Diya at the international level. Ismail Keles and Simal Yilmaz of Turkey won bronze.
