Amit Shah to visit Uttarakhand to preside over meeting of Central Regional Council
The Union Home Minister Amit Shah is all set for a day's visit to Uttarakhand today. During his stay, he will be presiding over the 24th meeting of the Central Regional Council at Narendra Nagar in Tehri district. The meeting is likely to be attended by the Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, arrived yesterday to attend the meeting.
Later on, the Home Minister will also be participating in the 49th All India Police Science Congress, which is being held at the Forest Research Institute (FRI) in the State capital of Dehradun. The Congress will focus on policing in the 5G era, narcotics, internal security, social media challenges, and community policing. It is being organised under the aegis of the Police Research and Development Bureau.
Aman Sehrawat won bronze medal in men's 57kg category
Aman Sehrawat secured a bronze medal for India in the men's freestyle wrestling 57kg category at Asian Games 2023. Sehrawat beat local favorite Liu Minghu by 11-0 in Hangzhou to win the 93rd medal for India at the continental meet this year.
In case you didn't know, Aman Sehrawat is the U-23 world champion. Aged 16, he became the first Indian wrestler to win a gold medal at the U-23 World Wrestling Championships in Pontevedra, Spain, last year. He also won a silver medal at the U-20 World Wrestling Championships.
Asian Games 2023, HS Prannoy wins bronze in men’s singles event
India’s H.S. Prannoy clinched bronze after going down against China’s Li Shifeng in the badminton men’s singles semifinal at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou on Friday.
After going into the first game break trailing 10-11, World No.1 Shifeng cruised through the contest as he won 21-16. 21-9 in just over 45 minutes.
Prannoy’s bronze takes India’s medal tally to 88, solidifying the fourth spot in the medal standings with 21 gold, 32 silver and 35 bronze medals.

The services sector growth in India rose to a 13-year high in September on sharp increase in new business amid strong demand conditions, and job numbers continued to increase as overall business mood improved, a monthly survey said on Thursday.
The seasonally adjusted S&P Global India Services PMI Business Activity Index rose from 60.1 in August to 61 in September, signalling a sharp upturn in output.
In Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) parlance, a print above 50 means expansion while a score below 50 denotes contraction.

Whereas 'Taar', by Tsering Lhanzes, was named the winner, 'Thigspa' (Last Drop), directed by Tsering Wangdus Lonpo and Tashi Dawa, was named the first runner-up.

Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan virtually inaugurated India's largest pumped storage project in Madhya Pradesh. The project is being developed by Greenko Group, India's largest energy storage company.
The project, which is located in the Khemla block, Neemuch district, Madhya Pradesh, has a capacity of 1440 megawatt (MW), with storage for 7.5 hours and is now being expanded to 1920 MW with storage of 6 hours to provide a storage of nearly 11 Giga watt hours (GWh) daily.

Co-created by YuWaah at UNICEF, PwC India, Capgemini, and the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), the YouthHub app aims to connect young people to curated jobs, skills, and volunteering opportunities. Australia likely to have world’s tallest wooden tower
Western Australia is set to be home to the world's largest tallest wooden building, as authorities in Perth green-lit plans for a 191.2 meter tall (627 foot) "hybrid" tower constructed using mass timber, reported CNN.
Perth's Metro Inner-South Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) on Thursday approved Grange Development's proposal for the skyscraper which has currently dubbed the C6 building, and would stand nearly twice as high as the current record holder.
According to the developers, 42 per cent of the proposed tower will be constructed from timber, with the columns and core built with reinforced concrete, CNN reported.
