32 airports shut due to conflict reopen
FOLLOWING the ceasefire understanding between India and Pakistan, New Delhi on Monday lifted the temporary closure of various airports in parts of northern and western India, making them available for regular civil flight operations.
Amid the major escalation in tensions with Pakistan last week, India had announced a temporary closure of 32 airports for civil aircraft operations till 5:29 am May 15, according to a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) issued on Friday by aviation authorities. Those NOTAMs were cancelled Monday morning with immediate effect.
Airlines said they were working to fully restore operations to and from the affected airports, with two IndiGo flights from Delhi to Jammu and Chandigarh operating on Monday evening.

FSIB recommends Sanjay Joshi as Oriental Insurance Company Limited's CMD
The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) on Friday recommended Sanjay Joshi for the position of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) at Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL).
The post fell vacant after R R Singh retired at the end of February. Recently, the government had appointed Executive Director Amit Misra as acting CMD of the company for three months from 1 March 2025.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday (May 9, 2025) met World Bank President Ajay Banga in Lucknow and launched two initiatives ‘UP AGREES’ and ‘AI Pragya’ related to agricultural innovation and digital transformation in the Sate.

RBI imposes Rs 1.72 crore penalty against SBI for certain non-compliances
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has penalised the State Bank of India with Rs 1.72 crore for non-compliance with certain directions.
As per a statement from the RBI, the state-owned lender failed to comply certain certain directions issued by RBI on 'Loans and Advances- Statutory and Other Restrictions', 'Customer Protection - Limiting Liability of Customers in Unauthorised Electronic Banking Transactions' and 'Opening of Current Accounts by Banks - Need for Discipline'.
This penalty has been imposed under the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
A Statutory Inspection for Supervisory Evaluation (ISE 2023) of the bank was conducted by RBI with reference to its financial position as on March 31, 2023.
Adani Power to supply 1500 MW thermal power to Uttar Pradesh; shares up 6%
Adani Power share price broke four-day losing streak, rising 6 percent in the early trade on May 12 following power supply order win from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation.
At 09:20am, Adani Power was quoting at Rs 545.30, up Rs 31.80, or 6.19 percent, on the BSE.

Archery World Cup 2025 Shanghai: Deepika Kumari, Parth Salunkhe bag bronze as India finish with 7 medals
At the Archery World Cup Stage 2, India finished its campaign with seven medals, including two gold, one silver and four bronze medals in Shanghai, China yesterday. India’s Parth Sushant Salunkhe clinched a Bronze medal in Men’s Individual Recurve, while Deepika Kumari also won a Bronze in Women’s Individual Recurve event. In the playoffs, Parth Salunkhe defeated France’s Olympic medallist Baptiste Addis 6-4 the and Deepika Kumari outclassed Republic of Korea’s Kang Chae-young 7-3.

India and Pakistan decide to ‘stop all firing, military action’ from land, air and sea
India and Pakistan Saturday agreed to stop firing and military action from 5 pm today.
“DGMO (Director General of Military Operations) of Pakistan called up DGMO (of India) at 3.35 pm. They agreed that both sides will stop all firing and military action from land, air and sea from 5 pm onwards,” Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, adding that the DGMOs will talk again at noon on May 12.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also posted on X that “India and Pakistan have today worked out an understanding on stoppage of firing and military action.”
