Krishi Nivesh portal: Centre asks States to join online platform, share information to boost agri investment
The government targets to bring in all schemes under various ministries of the Centre as well as States related to investment in the agriculture sector under one single window -- the Krishi Nivesh portal. The agriculture ministry on May 29 had shared a note on the “concept, scope and features” of the Krishi Nivesh portal which was launched in September, 2024.
State governments are yet to join the portal. Currently, schemes related to seven ministries -- Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Food Processing Industries, Rural Development, New and Renewable Energy, Jal Shakti, Chemicals & Fertilisers, and Fisheries Animal Husbandry and Dairying have been included on the portal. Other ministries which are to join the portal include Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Cooperation, Panchayati Raj, Commerce and Development of North Eastern Regions Department.

India launches ‘BharatGen’ AI model to revolutionize multilingual innovation at BharatGen Summit
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, unveiled ‘BharatGen,’ India’s first indigenously developed, government-funded, multimodal Large Language Model (LLM) designed for Indian languages, at the BharatGen Summit on Monday. Held as India’s largest Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and LLM summit and hackathon, the event marked a milestone in India’s journey toward inclusive and ethical AI innovation.
Developed under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) and led by the TIH Foundation for IoT and IoE at IIT Bombay, BharatGen integrates text, speech, and image modalities to deliver AI solutions in 22 Indian languages. Supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the initiative collaborates with leading academic institutions and innovators to create AI that is “ethical, inclusive, multilingual, and deeply rooted in Indian values and ethos,” as described by Dr. Singh.
IPL 2025 Final: RCB to hold victory parade in Bengaluru after maiden title win
Royal Challengers Bengaluru is set to hold a victory parade in Bengaluru on Wednesday following its maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title triumph.
The parade will begin at 3:30 PM IST from Vidhana Soudha and culminate at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the team’s home ground.

Kheer Bhawani, a sacred gathering of faith and devotion held in Ganderbal
The Kheer Bhawani Mela is an annual religious festival of great significance for the Kashmiri Pandit community. It is held at the Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tulla Mulla village of Ganderbal. India's GST collections for May 2025 rises 16.4% to ?2.01 lakh crore
Gross GST collections rose 16.4 per cent to over ₹2.01 lakh crore in May, as per government data released on Sunday.
This comes after a record high Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection in April, when the revenues touched an all-time high of ₹2.37 lakh crore.
In May, gross revenues from domestic transactions rose 13.7 per cent to about ₹1.50 lakh crore, while GST revenue from imports grew 25.2 per cent to ₹51,266 crore.
In May, the gross Central GST revenues stood at ₹35,434 crore, State GST revenues at ₹43,902 crore and Integrated GST at about ₹1.09 lakh crore. Revenues from Cess was at ₹12,879 crore.

Right-wing historian Karol Nawrocki wins Poland presidential election
Polish nationalist opposition candidate Karol Nawrocki won the second round of the country's presidential election with 50.89 per cent of the votes, the electoral commission said early on Monday, in a blow to the reform agenda of the pro-European government.
His rival, Rafal Trzaskowski, the liberal Warsaw mayor and an ally of the government led by Donald Tusk, got 49.11 per cent. An exit poll on Sunday had shown Trzaskowski winning with a razor-thin majority.
Nawrocki, 42, a eurosceptic historian who ran a national remembrance institute, campaigned on a promise to ensure economic and social policies favour Poles over other nationalities, including refugees from neighbouring Ukraine.
