Indian Army is celebrating the 76th infantry day today. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has greeted and extended warm wishes to the brave Infantrymen of the country on Infantry Day.

In a tweet, Mr Singh said, Indian infantry has been associated with utmost courage and professionalism. He said, the nation salutes their bravery, sacrifice and service.

Army Chief General Manoj Pande also conveyed his best wishes to all ranks, veterans, veer naris and families of the Infantry.

2 ISRO plans to launch Chandrayaan-3, its third mission to moon, in June next year

Indian Space Research Organisation plans to launch Chandrayaan-3, its third mission to the moon, in June next year with a more robust lunar rover onboard which is crucial for future inter-planetary explorations.

The space agency has also lined up the first test flight of the 'abort mission' for Gaganyaan, the country's first human spaceflight, early next year.

ISRO Chairman S Somnath said that Chandrayaan-3 (C-3) launch will be in June next year onboard the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3). He said, ISRO plans to fly Indian astronauts into orbit by the end of 2024 after carrying out successful abort missions and uncrewed test flights.

3 Central Teacher Eligibility Test to be held in online mode in December and January

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has said that the 16th edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be conducted in Online mode between December this year to January next year.

The exact date of examination will be mentioned on the admit cards of the candidates.

In a press release, CBSE stated that online application process will start from 31st of this month onwards and the last date for submitting online applications is 24th of next month.

Union Education Ministry will organise 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam' - a month-long programme from 16th of next month - to rediscover the centuries-old bond of knowledge and ancient civilisational linakage between Varanasi and Tamilnadu.

Addressing media about this programme in New Delhi, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed that over 2400 tamil people in 12 groups from diverse sections of society, including acedemics, spiritualism, philosophy, trade and commerce, agriculture, entrepreneurship, arts and artisanship will visit Kashi for eight days to get familiarised with the ancient knowledge shared by these two ancient cities.

5 PM Modi to launch Rozgar Mela -recruitment drive for ten lakh personnel on October 22

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch Rozgar Mela - the recruitment drive for ten lakh personnel tomorrow. The drive will be launched through video conferencing. During the ceremony, appointment letters will be handed over to 75 thousand newly inducted appointees in the first tranche.

This will be a significant step forward towards fulfilling the continuous commitment of the Prime Minister to providing job opportunities for the youth and ensuring the welfare of citizens.

6 Government to develop face authentication technology-based system for submission of Digital Life Certificates

Union Government is working to enhance the Ease of Living of pensioners across the country. In this direction, the several ministries together are developing a Face Authentication technology-based system.

This system will help in submission of digital life certificates by the Pensioners and Family Pensioners from any Android-based smart phone.

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has said that under the facility, the identity of a person will be established through Face Authentication technique.

7 BCCI appoints Roger Binny as new Chief; Announces holding of inaugural Women's IPL next year

The 67-year-old was elected unopposed during BCCI’s annual general meeting (AGM), which was held on Tuesday, 18 October, at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah, departing president Sourav Ganguly, treasurer Arun Dhumal and vice-president Rajeev Shukla were all present at the 91st annual general meeting of the board. With his appointment, Binny becomes the first-ever former World Cup-winning to become BCCI’s president.

Jay Shah has been re-inducted as the secretary of the board.
