Parshuram Jayanti is also being celebrated across the country today. Lord Parshuram is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.  

In his Mann Ki Baat Programme on All India Radio, last month Prime Minister Narendra Modi had wished people on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya and Parshuram Jayanti.

3 DD National Pet Show wins ENBA Award 2021

Doordarshan has won ENBA Award 2021 for its TV series based on pet care namely ‘Best Friend Forever’ under the 14th edition of Exchange4media News Broadcasting Awards, ENBA Awards. Doordarshan's TV series has been selected for the best in-depth Hindi series.

The 'Best Friend Forever' TV series is a half-an-hour weekly live phone-in show on DD National, wherein two pet experts guide people on how to take care of pets and other pet-related issues.

4 Indigenous Aircraft Carrier Vikrant to be handed over to Indian Navy by August, 2022

The Indigenous Aircraft Carrier Vikrant being built by the Cochin Shipyard Ltd will be handed over to the Indian Navy by August this year.

Addressing a press conference, Technical Director of the Cochin Shipyard Bijoy Bhaskar said, the final sea trial of the IAC will take place next month.
 

He said, the yard is in the process of setting up a new drydock, with a 600-tonne gantry crane, capable of handling vessels up to Suezmax, aircraft carriers of 70,000 tonnes displacement, Jack-up rigs and LNG vessels.

The International Ship Repair Facility being established by the Shipyard will have a 6,000-tonne shiplift, six work stations, besides a total outfitting berth of 1,500 metres.

5 Mandate Document of National Curriculum Framework launched in Bengaluru

nion Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan released a mandate document for the National Curriculum Framework under the National Education Policy in Bengaluru today. The mandate document is the steping stone between National Educational Policy and National Curriculum Framework.

The Education Minister described the mandate document as a step forward towards formation of new National syllabus and textbooks. He informed that the curriculum for the first stage of National Curriculum Framework related to play school will be ready by the next Sarswati Pooja date.

6 Road Transport and highways Minister Nitin Gadkari dedicates to the nation two NHAI projects in Telangana

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that the infrastructure development projects, especially highway construction works have gained pace across the country benefitting people at large. He was addressing a meeting after dedicating two National Highway Projects in Telangana and laying the foundation stone for 17 other projects in the state.

The Minister said. three lakh crore rupees will be invested to develop highways by the end of 2024.

Stating that highway works are underway at a pace, the Minister said, five out of 26 Green Highway Projects will go through Telangana. He added that these projects have been taken at an estimated coat of 17 thousand crore rupees.

7 PM Modi Inaugurates Semicon India Conference-2022 in Bengaluru; says India heads for robust economic growth with world's fastest-growing Start-up Ecosystem

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Semicon India Conference-2022 through video conferencing. The three-day event is taking place in Bengaluru. Speaking on this occasion, Prime Minister underlined the critical role of semiconductors in today’s world and said that our collective aim is to establish India as one of the key partners in global semiconductor supply chains. 

He said, India wants to work in this direction based on the principle of Hi-tech, high quality and high reliability. During the programme, the Prime Minister underlined six reasons for India being an attractive investment destination for Semiconductor technologies.

8 LG Baggavalli Somashekar Raju to take over as Vice Chief of Army Staff on Sunday

Lieutenant General Baggavalli Somashekar Raju will take over as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff on Sunday.  An alumnus of Sainik School Bijapur and National Defence Academy, he was commissioned in the JAT Regiment on 15th December 1984.

He commanded his Battalion during OP PARAKRAM in the Western Theatre and in Jammu and Kashmir. Mr Raju also holds the distinction of commanding the Uri brigade along the Line of Control, a Counter Insurgency Force, and the Chinar Corps in the Kashmir Valley.

The General Officer also served as the Commandant, of the Indian Military Training Team in Bhutan. During his illustrious career spanning 38 years, he has tenanted many important regimental, staff, and instructional appointments in the Army Head Quarters and in field formations to include,  Colonel Military Secretary Legal in Military Secretary branch, Brigadier General Staff of the operationally active White Knight Corps, Deputy Director General Military Operations & Director General Staff Duties.

9 Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to inaugurate Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Cochin Shipyard Ltd today

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal will inaugurate the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the  Cochin Shipyard Ltd this afternoon. The Minister will unveil a golden jubilee statue and launch the startup engagement framework of Cochin Shipyard on the occasion. He will also launch the work for developing the Ro-Ro (Roll-on, Roll-off) jetty near Mattacherry Wharf of the Cochin Port and unveil the new logo of the Cochin Port Authority.

The event will be attended by Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shantanu Thakur, Minister of State, External Affairs V Muraleedharan, State Minister of Labour and General Education V Shivankutty among others.

Sarbananda Sonowal will also inaugurate a workshop on "Green Shipping in India --Keeping Pace with the Global Maritime  Green Transitions" in Kochi this morning. Union Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav, NITI Ayog CEO Amitabh Kant, are among those who are participating in the workshop.

10 CCEA approves highest bid of Star 9 Mobility Private Limited for sale of entire 51% of government's shareholding of Pawan Hans Limited

Government has approved the highest bid of Star9 Mobility Private Limited for sale of entire 51 percent of government's shareholding of Pawan Hans Limited and transfer of management control. The Alternative Mechanism, empowered by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, comprising Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia approved the strategic buyer for the disinvestment of Pawan Hans Limited.

Pawan Hans Limited is a joint venture of Government and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited. Government holds 51 percent of the shares in the company and ONGC holds the balance 49 percent shareholding.
