1 Eleven Day Festival Aadi Mahotsav displaying products by tribal artisans concludes

National Tribal Festival, Aadi Mahotsav successfully concluded in New Delhi yesterday. The eleven-day festival was organised at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. The festival registered sales of more than 3 crore rupees. Minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda and Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav attended the closing ceremony. 

Speaking on the occasion, Arjun Munda said, the tribals have been conserving and preserving natural resources since time immemorial. He added that tribals are the protectors of environment which is the need of the hour in view of global warming and climate change. In his address, Environment Minister, Bhupender Yadav said, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, the event was a reminder that the lifestyle adopted by India’s tribal people is a lesson to the world in sustainable lifestyle.

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal will attend the receiving ceremony of the world's longest river cruise MV Ganga Vilas on its successful completion of journey at Bogibeel in Dibrugarh today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had virtually flagged off the cruise on 13th January 2023 from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh which has already traversed through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Bangladesh.

4 Indian Air Force to participate in Exercise Cobra Warrior at Waddington in UK

An Indian Air Force contingent comprising 145 Air Warriors on Sunday departed Air Force Station Jamnagar to participate in Exercise Cobra Warrior at the Waddington Air Force Base in United Kingdom. The exercise is scheduled from 6th of March to 24th of March this year.

Ministry of Defence in a statement said that the Exercise Cobra Warrior is a multilateral Air exercise in which Air Forces from Finland, Sweden, South Africa, United States of America and Singapore would also be participating alongside Royal Air Force and Indian Air Force. This year IAF is participating in the exercise with five Mirage 2000 fighters, two C-17 Globemaster and an IL-78 mid air refueller aircraft.

5 President Droupadi Murmu to formally inaugurate 14th Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav at Bikaner in Rajasthan

The President of India Draupadi Murmu will formally inaugurate and address the 14th edition of Sanskriti Mahotsav being held in Bikaner, Rajasthan today. The President will reach Bikaner in the afternoon and will address the Sanskriti Mahotsav being organized at Dr. Karni Singh Stadium.

AIR correspondent reports, The 9-days long festival is being organized for the first time in Rajasthan. The festival, which started on Saturday, will continue till March 5.

Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the 284th birth anniversary celebration of Banjara Dharmaguru Santh Sevalal Maharaj as the chief guest with other dignitaries in New Delhi today. The Culture Ministry is celebrating the anniversary for the first time.
 
In a special train, over 25 hundred people of the Banjara community from Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh have reached the national capital to attend the event.

Born on 15 February, 1739 in Karnataka, Sevalal Maharaj is considered a social reformer and spiritual teacher of the Banjara community.

Union Shipping & Waterways Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday visited the Bogibeel to take stock of the preparation to celebrate successful completion of world's longest river cruise, Ganga Vilas. The cruise is scheduled to reach Bogibeel in Dibrugarh district on the 28th of February.

On Friday, the tourists of World’s longest river cruise MV Ganga Vilas visited the Kohora Range of Kaziranga National Park in Golaghat district. 26 Swiss and 2 German tourists enjoyed the beautiful scenic view of the Kaziranga National Park by undertaking an adventurous Jeep Safari.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate the New Delhi World Book Fair today, February 25. The nine-day fair will be held at Pragati Maidan. Several literary and cultural activities focussing on the theme 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', will be organized during the fair.

10 CAG Girish Chandra Murmu selected as External Auditor of ILO in Geneva

Comptroller and Auditor General, Girish Chandra Murmu has been selected as External Auditor of the International Labour Organization in Geneva for a four-year term from 2024 to 2027. The decision was taken after a rigorous selection process. CAG will take over from the incumbent External Auditor of ILO, Supreme Audit Institution of Philippines. CAG’s appointment is a recognition of its standing among the international community as well as its professionalism, high standards, global audit experience and strong national credentials.
