1 govt launches Gift Deed scheme to reduce property related family disputes in courts

In a bid to foster harmony and alleviate property-related family disputes, the Yogi government initiated a special Gift Deed Scheme which has benefited over 43,574 people from August 5, 2023, to September 12, 2023. The public got a benefit of Rs 1807.31 crore under this scheme, read an official statement.

Ravindra Jaiswal, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Stamps and Court Fees and Registration said that there has been a significant change in the stamp duty associated with property donations to blood relatives in Uttar Pradesh. Under the new scheme, the stamp duty for such transactions has been reduced to Rs 5,000.

2 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion Meeting begins in Mumbai

The Fourth G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) Meeting began in Mumbai today.  A Symposium on Digital Public Infrastructure for energizing MSMEs was held today. Secretary, of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ajay Seth, Deputy Governor of  Reserve Bank of India, T. Rabi Sankar, and Vice President of the International Finance Corporation Mohamed Gouled and others addressed the symposium.

The Symposium saw panel discussions involving international experts around two key themes “Energising MSMEs for Higher Economic Growth through Digital Public Infrastructure” and “Credit Guarantees and SME ecosystems”.  The second panel discussion was on credit guarantees and SME ecosystems.

3 Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh launches Special Campaign 3.0 portal

Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh today launched a Special Campaign 3.0 portal at a function in New Delhi. Through this dedicated portal -

the Special Campaign 3.0 will be monitored. The Government has announced to conduct Special Campaign 3.0 from the 2nd to the 31st of October this year with a focus on Swachhata and reducing pendency in Government Offices with a saturation approach. This Special Campaign will focus on field and outstation offices responsible for service delivery or having a public interface. Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances is the Nodal Department for the implementation of this Campaign.

4 Fourth G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion Meeting to begin in Mumbai

AIRThe Fourth G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion Meeting will begin in Mumbai today. The 3-day meeting will bring together over 50 delegates from G20 member countries, special invitee countries and International Organisations. The meeting involves discussions on ongoing work of the financial inclusion agenda under G20 India Presidency in areas of Digital Financial Inclusion and SME Finance.

6 BS VI-Compliant Diesel Vehicles Get Nod For Inter-State Stage Carriage In Delhi

All BS VI-compliant diesel vehicles will now be allowed to be registered for inter-state stage carriage in Delhi.

In an order dated July 24, the Supreme Court modified its previous order to pave the way for the registration of all BS VI-compliant diesel vehicles in the national capital, irrespective of their requirement for the G20 Summit.

Citing the top court's judgment, an order issued by the Delhi transport department said, "... the competent authority is pleased to allow the registration of all BS VI compliant diesel vehicles in GNCT of Delhi for inter-state stage carriage, All India Tourist Permit (AITP) holders having capacity of more than 7 1 persons, coaches, buses." The Delhi Taxi and Tourist Transporters' Operators' Association lauded the decision, even as it took exception at the delay in the issuance of the transport department order.

7 India, Russia agree to train Indian seafarers in polar and arctic waters

India and Russia on Wednesday agreed to train Indian seafarers in polar and arctic waters in this far eastern Russian port as the two sides discussed ways to widen maritime cooperation including possibility of usage of new transport corridors like the Northern Sea Route as well as the Eastern Maritime Corridor.

Discussions on the maritime cooperation took place between visiting Union Ports, Shipping and Waters Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic A O Chekunkov here, according to an official statement.

8 Union Cabinet approves MoU between India, Sierra Leone

The Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 12, 2023 between India’s Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and and the Ministry of Information and Communications of the Republic of Sierra Leone on Cooperation in the field of sharing successful Digital Solutions implemented at Population Scale for Digital Transformation.

The MoU aims to encourage closer cooperation and the exchange of experiences and digital technology-based solutions (i.e. INDIA STACK) in the implementation of both countries' digital transformational programmes, the Cabinet said in an official release.

9 Delhi Government imposes a complete ban on all kinds of crackers in city

Amid the rise in pollution levels in the national capital, Delhi Government has imposed a complete ban on all kind of crackers in the city. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said, city Government took the decision to impose ban on production, storage, sell and bursting of crackers to check the rising air pollution. He said, pollution level increases in Delhi during the winters and to tackle this, the Delhi government has started working on the winter action plan.

10 Maharashtra beat Karnataka to win 5th National Wheelchair Rugby Championship 2023

Maharashtra beat Karnataka with the final score of 31-10 in the finals at the recently concluded 5th National Wheelchair Rugby Championship 2023 held at Balewadi, Pune from September 10 to September 11, 2023.

The championship was conducted by The Indian Rugby Football Union (Rugby India), the sole governing body for the sport of rugby in India, in association with the Wheelchair Rugby Federation of India and Mitsubishi Corporation. The championship received an overwhelming participation of over 120 athletes from across the country.
