| 1 | Kangana Ranaut becomes first woman to perform Ravan Dahan | Actor Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday performed the Ravan Dahan at New Delhi's famed Lav Kush Ramleela on the occasion of Dussehra 2023. In the 50-year history of the event held annually at the Red Fort, this is the first time that a woman has set the Ravan effigy on fire, Arjun Singh, president of Lav Kush Ramleela Committee of Delhi, said. Ranaut set the effigy of the demon king ablaze by shooting an arrow and chanted 'Jai Shri Ram'. Scores of people, including a large number of women, had gathered at the venue to catch a glimpse of the actor. Apart from Ranaut, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena were also present for the festivities, which the Lav Kush Ramleela Committee arranged. At the event, Ranaut also promoted her film "Tejas", which is set to release on October 27. She said the film is based on the life of Indian soldiers and their tough life. |

| 4 | Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurates Country’s first Nano DAP plant in Gandhinagar, Gujarat | Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said nanotechnology will be the game changer in agriculture in the days ahead. Addressing a large number of farmers after inaugurating the Country’s first Nano DAP plant by IFFCO near Kalol in Gandhinagar, the Minister said it is the need of the hour to adopt natural farming and reduce the use of fertilizers in agriculture without compromising the scale of the production. The Minister lauded IFFCO’s contribution in developing nano variants and coming up with successful alternatives to chemical fertilizers. Mr. Shah said that besides the increase in budget and loan assistance to the farmers, the government has also increased the fertilizer subsidies following the rise in fertilizers’ prices globally. The Minister said unlike the solid DAP and Urea, the liquid nano DAP will not affect the nutrients in the soil and will have zero harmful metal particles. He said the DAP plant will largely benefit the farmers of the region. |
