| 1 | PM Modi invites global tech leaders to GPAI Summit 2023 | Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended a global invitation to tech enthusiasts, innovators, and stakeholders worldwide for the upcoming Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit 2023. In a LinkedIn post, PM Modi urged them to participate in the two-day summit starting on December 12th, at Bharat Mandapam, featuring engaging sessions and an AI Expo showcasing 150 startups. The summit will host senior-level government delegations from 29 GPAI member countries, along with GPAI’s multi-stakeholder experts’ group, global AI experts, multilateral organizations, and other relevant stakeholders. As part of the summit, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the Centre for Responsible AI (CeRAI) at IIT Madras, is organizing a research symposium under the theme, “Advancing Responsible AI in Public-Sector Applications.” The symposium aims to provide a platform for Indian and international academicians and researchers to collaborate with AI experts, present actionable research on responsible AI to a global audience, and enhance cross-sectoral research on responsible AI. |

During the meeting, NSA Ajit Doval highlighted the crucial role of the CSC in ensuring regional security and stability. He emphasized the significance of sustained engagements across various pillars of cooperation. The participants reached a consensus on a Roadmap of Activities for 2024, as reported by India's High Commission to Mauritius on X, formerly known as Twitter. Last year, on May 9, the fifth NSA-level meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave was hosted by the Maldives. During this meeting, the NSAs discussed the importance of close cooperation among member and observer countries in ensuring maritime safety and security, as well as countering terrorism and radicalization. |

The popular dance form is the 15th cultural item from India to make it to the UNESCO list. Kolkata’s Durga Puja was the last one added two years ago. “Today, the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage inscribed ‘Garba of Gujarat’ on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity during its 18th session, taking place in Kasane, Botswana from 5 to 9 December 2023,” the UNESCO said in a statement. |

| 7 | PM approves first urban flood mitigation project of ?561.29 crore for Chennai | After the cyclone pounded Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the first urban flood mitigation project of ₹561.29 crore, under National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF), for ‘Integrated Urban Flood Management activities for Chennai Basin Project’. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh with Tamil Nadu Minister for Finance & Human Resources Management Thangam Thenarasu and Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena also carried out an aerial survey of areas ravaged by cyclone Michuang in-and-around Chennai, the Ministry of Defence said in an official statement. Talking to reporters after the survey, the Defence Minister stated the Central and state governments are together putting up an effective response to mitigate the crisis. “The Prime Minister spoke with the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and has assured all possible help from the Central Government. He has directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to release in advance the central share of the second instalment of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) of ₹493.60 crore to Andhra Pradesh and ₹450 crore to Tamil Nadu. The Centre had already released its first instalment of the same amount to both the States,” he was quoted by the MoD as having said. |

| 10 | 1st Indian Art Biennale at Red Fort to begin today | Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first Indian Art, Architecture and Design Biennale (IAADB) 2023 to be held at Red Fort on Friday. During the programme, Modi will also inaugurate Atma Nirbhar Bharat Centre for Design at Red Fort and the student Biennale — Samunnati. It was the Prime Minister’s vision to develop and institutionalise a flagship global cultural initiative in the country like the international biennales at Venice, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Sydney and Sharjah, among others, said the ministry of culture. “In line with this vision, a nationwide campaign to reinvent, rebrand, renovate and re-house museums was launched.
