1 India, ADB sign over $2.2 billion loan agreements for key development projects

India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Monday signed loan agreements worth over $2.2 billion to support five major development projects spanning skilling, renewable energy, healthcare, urban transport and sustainable livelihoods across multiple states.

The agreements were finalised under the guidance of the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. The loan documents were signed by Deputy Secretary Saurabh Singh on behalf of the Government of India and by Aarti Mehra, Officer-in-Charge and Deputy Country Director of the ADB India Resident Mission, on behalf of the multilateral lender.

The financing package includes support for the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded Industrial Training Institutes Programme ($846 million), Accelerating Affordable and Inclusive Rooftop Solar Systems Development Programme – Subprogramme 1 ($650 million), Assam State Tertiary Health Care Augmentation Project ($398.8 million), Chennai Metro Rail Investment Project – Tranche 2 ($240 million), and the Integrated Ecotourism and Sustainable Agri-based Livelihood Development in Meghalaya Project ($77 million).

2 GS Delhi Aces clinch maiden title as TPL season 7 concludes in Ahmedabad

Day six of the Tennis Premier League (TPL) Season 7 marked the business end of the tournament at the Gujarat University Tennis Stadium, culminating in a high-stakes grand finale, where GS Delhi Aces emerged victorious to clinch their maiden title, as per a TPL release.

In the grand finale, GS Delhi Aces and Yash Mumbai Eagles battled it out for the Tennis Premier League Season 7 title. The tie opened with the Women's Singles, where Sofia Costoulas took on Riya Bhatia. Costoulas once again produced a commanding performance, cruising to an emphatic 18-7 win to maintain her unbeaten record in singles.

The momentum continued in the mixed doubles, as Sofia Costoulas partnered Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan against Riya Bhatia and Niki Poonacha. The Delhi Aces duo controlled the contest from the outset, combining sharp returning with confident net play to secure a 16-9 victory and extend their advantage in the final.

3 Chandigarh University Becomes 1st University in India to Win Khelo India University Games for 2 Years in a Row

Showcasing excellence in sports, Chandigarh University has created history by topping the medal tally in the 5th Edition Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 in Rajasthan with a staggering haul of 42 Gold Medals, 14 Silver Medals and 11 Bronze Medals.

With this standout performance delivered by its contingent consisting of 174 student athletes – 100 girls and 74 boys – to finish atop the medal table with 67 medals, Chandigarh University has become the first University in India to win Khelo India University Games consequently and retain overall championship for two years in a row ever since the inception of KIUG in 2020.

Chandigarh University, which has also won the 4th edition of KIUG 2024 by winning 71 medals including 32 golds – shattered its own record by winning 10 more gold medals in KIUG 2025 to finish with 42 gold medals which is highest ever haul by a university in the Khelo India University Games.

4 DARPG Releases 40th CPGRAMS Report: Grievance Disposal Up Across States/UTs

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has released the 40th monthly report on the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) for States and Union Territories for November 2025.

The report presents a detailed assessment of grievance registrations, disposals, pendency, user engagement, and capacity-building initiatives across States and UTs.

During November 2025, States and UTs received 60,450 public grievance (PG) cases, while 70,598 cases were redressed, reflecting a notable improvement in disposal rates compared to October.

5 Shafali Verma named ICC Women's Player of the Month after World Cup heist

7 Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia lauds C-DOT for winning IEEE SA Corporate Award 2025

Union Minister for Communications, Jyotiraditya Scindia, today lauded the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) for winning the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Standards Association (IEEE SA) Corporate Award 2025.

In a social media post, Mr Scindia said that C-DOT has become the first organisation from India to receive this honour and only the fifth globally from the 140-year-old IEEE. He highlighted that the award recognises C-DOT’s contributions to advancing IEEE standards in wireless broadband, rural 5G, telecom education and in building globally recognised, standards-based innovation frameworks from India.

8 Ram Janmabhoomi movement leader Dr Ramvilas Vedanti passes away at 67

Former BJP MP and senior saint Dr Ram Vilas Das Vedanti (67), a prominent figure of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district early on Monday.

Dr Vedanti had been admitted to Rewa’s Super Speciality Hospital for the past two days. On Sunday, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla had planned to airlift him to AIIMS, Bhopal, for advanced treatment, but the air ambulance could not be deployed due to adverse weather conditions. His health deteriorated subsequently, and he passed away at 12.20 am on Monday.

Earlier, Dr Vedanti had travelled from Ayodhya to Delhi on December 7 and attended a meeting of the VHP’s Central Margdarshak Mandal on December 10. From Delhi, he reached Rewa, where a Ramkatha discourse by him was underway at Bhatwa village near Lalgaon. The programme had been scheduled to continue till December 17.

9 AIIMS New Delhi conducts India’s first clinical trial for advanced stroke treatment device

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, conducted India’s first clinical trial of a new and advanced stroke treatment device named the Supernova Stent.

AIIMS informed that Supernova is designed for the country’s diverse patient population, where strokes often strike patients younger than in the West.

AIIMS also underlined that this is the nation’s first stroke device cleared on the basis of a domestic clinical trial. It added that the device has already treated more than three hundred patients in Southeast Asia.

The medical institute further said that the Supernova Stent will now be manufactured in the country, offering hope to over 17 lakhs citizens who suffer strokes each year.

10 India opens Cho La, Dok La passes in Sikkim for battlefield tourism on China border

India on Monday opened the historic Cho La and Dok La passes in Sikkim, formally introducing “battlefield tourism” along the China border under the Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan initiative.

Doklam came into focus in 2017 following a border standoff between Indian and Chinese troops, while Cho La is among the sites where Indian and Chinese forces clashed in 1967. The Northeast has several such battlefields, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang flagged off 25 motorbikes and vehicles to mark the opening of the two passes.
