1 Odisha to host Global Energy Leaders’ Summit in December to shape India’s energy roadmap

The Government of Odisha will host the Global Energy Leaders’ Summit (GELS) 2025 in Puri from December 5–7, bringing together national and international stakeholders to discuss India’s evolving energy landscape. The event will focus on strategies to meet rising power demand, ensure reliable supply, and drive the transition toward sustainable and technology-driven energy systems.

The logo and website of the summit were launched in New Delhi by Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik and Odisha Deputy Chief Minister (Energy) Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. The summit will be held under the theme “Powering India: Sufficiency, Balance, Innovation.”

Speaking on the announcement, Shripad Yesso Naik said, “Energy sufficiency is not only about meeting demand but ensuring reliability and resilience. GELS will play an important role in achieving Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of sustainability and cooperative federalism and for India to achieve Net Zero by 2070.” He added that the summit “reflects India’s commitment to an innovation-driven, sustainable energy future.”

2 Army's Op 'Akhand Prahar' showcases strength of integrated combat power

Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, reviewed the operational preparedness of Konark Corps during exercise Akhand Prahar, conducted in the Desert Sector as part of the Tri-Services Exercise Trishul.

The Indian Army conducted exercise Akhand Prahar in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer.

The exercise validated the full-spectrum combat readiness of Konark Corps through integrated employment of all arms and services -- from mechanised and infantry manoeuvres to the execution of land operations by the RUDRA Brigade, Special Heliborne Operations, and coordinated Attack Helicopter missions by Army Aviation.

4 Centre to set up 100 new Sainik schools under PPP model

The Narendra Modi government has decided to set up 100 Sainik Schools across the country on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday.

Speaking via video conference at the inauguration function of Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School (MRCSSS) and Sagar Organic Plant, he said these schools will open the path for children from several districts of Gujarat to serve in the armed forces.

The Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School (MRCSSS) has been built at a cost of Rs 50 crore and is equipped with facilities such as smart classrooms, hostels, a library and a canteen, a government release said.

5 C-DOT Partners with NAM InfoCom for “Development of Mission Critical Communication System (MCX) Solution”

The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) signs Agreement with M/s NAM InfoCom Private Limited, for Joint Development of Mission Critical Communication System (MCX)Solution, marking a significant step towards strengthening India’s indigenous communication infrastructure for public safety and emergency response.

Under C-DOT’s MCX Alliance, CDOT has engaged with 10 different organizations, mainly startups to collaborate and develop the MCX ecosystem in the country. The partnership aims to deliver a state-of-the-art, fully indigenous MCX solution to enhance India’s self-reliance in the field of mission-critical communications. The MCX system has been developed in line with 3GPP standards to support Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT), Mission Critical Data (MCData), and Mission Critical Video (MCVideo) services. This solution will provide secure, reliable, high-quality, low latency, realtime audio/video communication tailored to work around existing 4G and 5G mobile networks. The MCX solution will be useful for Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR) communications and help disaster management agencies, Law and Order enforcement agencies for efficient operations.

6 TEC signs MoU with SRMIST for collaboration on Joint Studies and Technical Contributions in Telecom Technologies and Standardisation Activities

The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), the technical arm of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the SRM Institute of Science & Technology (SRMIST) to collaborate on joint studies, research, and technical contributions in advanced telecom technologies and global standardisation activities.

The partnership aims to develop India-specific standards and test frameworks, explore future network technologies such as 6G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), NTN, Quantum Communication and enhance India’s participation in ITU-T, ITU-D, ITU-R (International Telecommunication Union – Telecommunication Standardization Sector, Telecommunication Development Sector and Telecommunication Development Sector respectively) Study and Focus Groups.

7 MoD & BDL sign Rs 2,095.70 crore contract for INVAR Anti-tank missiles

Ministry of Defence has inked a contract with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) for the procurement of INVAR Anti-tank Missiles at a total cost of Rs 2,095.70 crore, under the 'Buy (Indian)' category. The contract was signed by senior officials of the Ministry of Defence and representatives of BDL in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh at South Block, New Delhi on November 13, 2025.

The procurement of the INVAR Anti-tank Missiles enhances the firepower and lethality of Tank T-90, the mainstay of Armoured Regiments of the Indian Army. The weapon system is a sophisticated laser-guided anti-tank missile with very high hit probability. It is set to transform the conduct of Mechanised operations and offer operational advantage against the adversary.

The procurement underscores the Government’s efforts to meet the operational requirements of the Indian Army by leveraging the existing expertise of Defence Public Sector Undertakings, along with development of niche technologies by domestic industries towards achieving Aatmanirbharta in defence.

10 CSIR signs MoU with NICDC to strenghthen Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) today signed an agreement with National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation to establish a framework to enhance research and development expertise of CSIR.
