The UAE has announced a 10 million US dollars contribution to strengthen community resilience against natural disasters across Asia and the Pacific. The initiative, launched through the UAE Aid Agency, will support Emirates Nature- WWF in partnership with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to implement the “Community Resilience to Natural Disasters Programme.”

The announcement was made under the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during the 2025 IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi. The joint programme, developed by WWF and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), seeks to harness nature-based solutions to help communities prepare for and adapt to natural hazards while promoting sustainable livelihoods.

The UAE’s funding will support the programme’s first phase, designed to attract additional co-financing from public and private sector partners to ensure long-term sustainability and regional expansion.Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, said the initiative reflects the UAE’s global commitment to proactive resilience and preventive action. Emirates Nature-WWF Director General Laila Mostafa Abdullatif said the programme underscores the UAE’s belief that “resilience begins within communities,” while WWF International Director-General Kirsten Schuijt described nature as “one of humanity’s strongest allies in reducing disaster risk.”

Union Minister of State for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, today inaugurated the Live Cases Dashboard of Legal Information Management and Briefing System (LIMBS) in New Delhi. Addressing the event, Mr Meghwal said that this initiative aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government litigation management.

Talking to the media, Mr Meghwal said that through this dashboard, the government has developed an information mechanism that provides details of all cases scheduled to be heard in the next seven days in the Supreme Court, High Courts, or any other courts involving various ministries of the Government of India. He also added that officers and ministers can monitor this information directly through their dashboard from their office and receive updates on the upcoming cases in the following week.

The LIMBS Live Cases Dashboard presents real-time data visualisation of court cases and provides an overview of upcoming hearing cases, enabling proactive decision-making and better inter-ministerial coordination. At present, the LIMBS portal has around 7 lakhs live cases from 53 Ministries and Departments. This dashboard reinforces the Government’s commitment to leveraging technology for efficient legal case management, data-driven insights, and improved governance outcomes.

India and Mongolia today inked ten MoUs following bilateral and delegation level between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa in New Delhi. The MoUs are for cooperation in Humanitarian aid, restoration of heritage site in Mongolia, cooperation in immigration, geology and mineral resources, promotion of Cooperatives, and sharing of digital solutions.

On this occasion, both the leaders jointly released the commemorative stamps marking the 70th anniversary of India and Mongolia’s bilateral relations.

Addressing a Joint Press conference in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi said, India has decided to provide free e-visas to Mongolian citizens. He said, India will also sponsor the annual visit of young cultural ambassadors from Mongolia to India. Mr Modi said, the relationship between India and Mongolia is not merely diplomatic but is a soulful and spiritual bond between both the nations. He said, Nalanda University has played a vital role in the development of Buddhism in Mongolia. Mr Modi said, India and Mongolia have decided to bring new energy to this historic relationship by linking Nalanda and Gandan Monastery.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today released a book titled Ready, Relevant and Resurgent II: Shaping a Future Ready Force at a function in New Delhi. The book authored by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, presents a comprehensive and future-oriented blueprint for shaping country’s Armed Forces to make them future-ready.

The book provides in-depth analysis of warfare’s changing character while focusing on emerging frontiers such as cyberspace, space-enabled operations, cognitive warfare, and their growing relevance for the Armed Forces.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, withdrawal limitations have been relaxed, with education withdrawals being allowed up to ten times and marriage withdrawals up to five times, up from the previous limit of three partial withdrawals for marriage and education combined.

It also stated that EPF members can now apply for withdrawals without specifying a reason under the ‘special circumstances’ category, as opposed to the previous requirement to clarify the reasons for partial withdrawals.

EY India, the Indian arm of global professional services firm EY, has partnered with Microsoft to launch the AI Skills Passport, a free online programme designed to provide equitable access to high-quality AI education for learners aged 16 and above.

In a press statement, EY India said the initiative aims to equip students and early-career professionals with essential, job-ready AI skills. The India roll-out follows the global launch earlier this year, which has already recorded over 40,000 enrolments and 13,000 completions.

According to Nasscom, only 31 per cent of professionals in India feel adequately prepared to use AI tools. The programme is expected to help bridge this gap by enabling individuals to upskill for an increasingly digital economy, EY India said.

Israel will confer upon US President Donald Trump with its highest civilian honour Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor for his instrumental role in brokering a Gaza ceasefire and securing the release of Israeli hostages.

President of Israel Isaac Herzog will present the award to his US counterpart Donald Trump. The announcement comes at a time when the first lot of seven Israeli captives had been handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Mr. Herzog lauded Mr. Trump’s tireless efforts saying that he helped in bring Israeli hostages to home. He said, Mr. Trump also laid the foundations for a new era in the Middle East built on security, cooperation, and genuine hope for a peaceful future.

In a landmark public health achievement, the World Health Organisation has validated the Maldives for eliminating mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B, while maintaining its earlier validation for HIV and syphilis.

This makes the Maldives the first country in the world to achieve 'triple elimination', a WHO statement said.

"The Maldives has shown that with strong political will and sustained investment in maternal and child health, elimination of mother-to-child transmission of these deadly diseases, and the suffering they bring, is possible," said WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Country’s retail inflation moderated to eight year low of 1.54 per cent in September this year, down from 2.07 percent recorded in August 2025. According to data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, it is the lowest year-on-year inflation rate after June 2017. Meanwhile, inflation in rural areas softened to 1.07 percent and at 2.04 percent in urban regions.

The food inflation rate, based on the All India Consumer Food Price Index, remained negative for the fourth consecutive month, slipping further into deflation at 2.28 per cent in September, the lowest since December 2018. Corresponding food inflation rate for rural areas also decelerated to 2.17 percent while urban areas also witnessed deflation, standing at 2.47 percent during last month.

According to the Ministry, the decline in headline inflation and food inflation during the month of September is mainly attributed to favorable base effect and to decline in the prices of vegetables, oil, fruits, pulses and cereal.

The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) will launch the fourth edition of its Nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign from November 1 to 30, said the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions on Wednesday.

Under existing rules, pensioners are required to submit a Life Certificate every November to ensure continuation of their pension. The previous DLC Campaign 3.0, held in November 2024 across 845 cities, recorded 1.62 crore submissions.

The Nationwide Digital Life Certificate Campaign 4.0, aimed at reaching pensioners in even the remotest corners of the country, will see a major scale-up this year, covering more than 1,850 districts, cities, and towns across over 2,500 camp locations.
