| 2 | Kamla Persad-Bissessar serves second term as Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago | Kamla Persad-Bissessar will be the next Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago. Her party United National Congress has won the parliamentary election of the twin-island Caribbean nation. The victory marks a remarkable comeback for 73 year old Persad-Bissesar who previously served as Prime Minister from 2010-2015. She is the only woman ever to have led the Caribbean country. In her victory speech, Persad-Bissesar pledged to deliver on election promises. She credited the victory to the people and said, the victory is for the senior citizens to keep their pensions, for public servants to get their rightful salary increases, to reopen children’s hospital, to create over 50,000 jobs. The snap election was triggered after the former Prime Minister Keith Rowley of People’s National Movement resigned amid a surge in the cost of living, Trump’s trade wars and soaring crime rates. |

Sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Textiles under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the project is set to transform the state’s industrial landscape and elevate India’s textile sector globally, the state government said in a statement. | 5 | RBI cancels licence of Imperial Urban Co-op Bank over inadequate liquidity | The Reserve Bank of India on Friday said it has cancelled the licence of Jalandhar-based Imperial Urban Co-operative Bank as the lender does not have adequate capital and earning prospects. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Punjab has also been requested to issue an order for winding up of the bank and appoint a liquidator for the bank. On liquidation, every depositor would be entitled to receive deposit insurance claim amount of his/her deposits up to Rs 5 lakh from Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC). As per the data submitted by the bank, RBI said 97.79 per cent of the depositors are entitled to receive the full amount of their deposits from DICGC. |

| 7 | Former Inter Milan and Brazil striker Jair da Costa dies at 84 | Brazilian striker Jair da Costa, who helped Inter Milan win its first two European Cups in the 1960s, has died in Osasco, outside Sao Paulo. He was 84. The Brazilian Football Confederation announced the death on Saturday without elaborating. Da Costa was a key forward for the Inter side which won the European Cup in 1963 against Alfredo Di Stefano’s Real Madrid, and in 1964 against Eusebio’s Benfica. Da Costa scored the only goal in the 1964 final at the San Siro. He also won four Serie A titles. |

| 10 | FinMin includes I4C under PMLA for info sharing | The government has authorised Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) to share and receive information from the Enforcement Directorate under the anti-money laundering law, a move aimed at detecting money trail and combating cyber frauds. Established under the home ministry, I4C is envisaged to act as the nodal point to curb cybercrime in the country. I4C focusses on improving coordination between various law enforcement agencies and the stakeholders, driving change in India's overall capability to tackle cybercrime. In a notification dated April 25, the Revenue Department under the Finance Ministry included I4C under Section 66 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). This would help I4C to share and receive information from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and other law enforcement agencies. |
