Union Shipping & Waterways Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday visited the Bogibeel to take stock of the preparation to celebrate successful completion of world's longest river cruise, Ganga Vilas. The cruise is scheduled to reach Bogibeel in Dibrugarh district on the 28th of February.

On Friday, the tourists of World’s longest river cruise MV Ganga Vilas visited the Kohora Range of Kaziranga National Park in Golaghat district. 26 Swiss and 2 German tourists enjoyed the beautiful scenic view of the Kaziranga National Park by undertaking an adventurous Jeep Safari.

2 PM Modi to inaugurate ‘Barisu Kannada Dim Dimava’ cultural festival at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the ‘Barisu Kannada Dim Dimava’ cultural festival at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi today, February 25. He will also address the gathering on the occasion. 

‘Barisu Kannada Dim Dimava’ cultural festival is being organized to celebrate Karnataka's culture, traditions and history. It is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The festival, being held under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, will provide an opportunity to hundreds of artists to showcase Karnataka's cultural heritage through dance, music, drama, and poetry.

3 Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to inaugurate New Delhi World Book Fair at Pragati Maidan

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate the New Delhi World Book Fair today, February 25. The nine-day fair will be held at Pragati Maidan. Several literary and cultural activities focussing on the theme 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', will be organized during the fair.

AIR correspondent reports, this is the 31st edition of the New Delhi World Book fair. At the fair, more than two thousand stalls will be set up and more than one thousand book publishers will participate. France has been designated as the Guest of Honour Country.

4 CAG Girish Chandra Murmu selected as External Auditor of ILO in Geneva

Comptroller and Auditor General, Girish Chandra Murmu has been selected as External Auditor of the International Labour Organization in Geneva for a four-year term from 2024 to 2027. The decision was taken after a rigorous selection process. CAG will take over from the incumbent External Auditor of ILO, Supreme Audit Institution of Philippines. CAG’s appointment is a recognition of its standing among the international community as well as its professionalism, high standards, global audit experience and strong national credentials.

5 MoU signed for recognising NCHMCT's UG and PG degree program in Hospitality

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Noida and Jawaharlal Nehru University on Thursday signed an MoU for recognising NCHMCT's UG and PG degree program in Hospitality.

The MoU was signed in the presence of  Minister for Tourism, Culture and DoNER G.Kishan Reddy, on Thursday in New Delhi.

The MoU is towards recognition of NCHMCT's a flagship UG and PG Degree programs in hospitality by JNU.

6 President Droupadi Murmu presents Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowships & Akademi Awards in New Delhi

President Droupadi Murmu has said that Indian arts can spread peace and harmony in today's time which is full of tension and conflict. She added that Indian cultural values have become more useful in the modern era. President Murmu stated this while presenting the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowships and Akademi Awards for the year 2019, 2020 and 2021 at a function in New Delhi today.  She said, Indian arts are also the best example of India's soft power. The President also said, India's unique performing arts have kept  the country's incredible culture alive for centuries. She added that the arts and artists are the carriers of India's rich cultural heritage and unity in diversity is the biggest feature of the country's cultural traditions. The President said people should take pride in the fact that the oldest and best definitions and traditions of art have developed in the country.

7 7th edition of Asia Economic Dialogue to be held from Feb 23 to 25 in Pune

The seventh edition of the Asia Economic Dialogue will be held from Feb 23 till the 25th of February in Pune. It is the External Affairs Ministry’s annual flagship event on Geoeconomics, co-hosted in collaboration with Pune International Centre.

The principal theme for the Dialogue is ‘Asia and the Emerging World Order’. The Dialogue will also discuss themes such as Global Growth Prospects, How the Global South Will Shape the G20 Agenda and the Metaverse.

8 Govt emphasises on launching OTT platform for Prasar Bharati this year

The Government has emphasised on launching an Over-the-Top (OTT) platform for Prasar Bharati this year to increase its footprint in the rapidly changing broadcasting industry.

It also aims to take FM radio to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities with more auctions for new FM radio stations this year. Speaking at the Broadcast Engineering Society (BES) Expo 2023 in New Delhi, Information and Broadcasting Ministry Secretary Apurva Chandra informed that the FM radio stations only cover 60 per cent of the country.

9 Railways to launch Guru Kripa Yatra with Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train from April 5

Indian Railways is set to launch Guru Kripa Yatra from 5th April this year from Lucknow with its exclusive Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train. During the eleven day holy tour, the pilgrims will visit the most prominent revered sites of Sikhism which includes the five Holy Takhts.

The tour will include visit to Sri Kesgarh Sahib Gurudwara and Virasat-e-khalsa at Anandpur Sahib, Gurudwara Sri Patalpuri Sahib at Kiratpur Sahib, Gurudwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib at Sirhind, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Sri Harmandir Sahib at Amritsar, Sri Damdama Sahib at Bathinda, Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib at Nanded, Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib at Bidar and Gurudwara Sri Harmandarji Sahib at Patna.

10 Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launches Learning-Teaching Material 'Jaadui Pitara' for Foundational Stages

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched a Learning-Teaching Material called 'Jaadui Pitara' for Foundational Stages in New Delhi on Monday. Under the National Curriculum Framework for foundational stage - 2022, this unique initiative of the government will help students of foundational stages learn in a play-way method with ease. The Jaadui Pitara' comprises of playbooks, activity books, flash cards, posters depicting various stories, games, puzzles, puppets and many more items.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr Pradhan described this day as historic for the National Education Policy. He informed that initially this initiative will be kicked off in a pilot project manner in only 50 Central schools, but later, for next academic session, 1200 central schools across the country will receive this box for students in foundational stage.
