1 GJEPC launches India Jewellery Exposition 2023 in Dubai to promote "Made in India" gems and jewellery

The Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council unveiled India Jewellery Exposition 2023 ( IJEX 2023), the first of its kind jewellery exposition centre in Dubai. IJEX 2023 is a Global Business Touchpoint, especially for GJEPC members to connect with international buyers. The centre was inaugurated by Rajesh kumar singh, Secretary DPIIT, and Sunjay Sudhir in the presence of Kirit Bhansali Vice chairman GJEPC, Juma Al Kait , Assistant Undersecretary - Foreign Trade Affairs at Ministry of Economy, UAE, Srikar reddy, Joint secretary , Dept of commerce. Gem Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) is India's Apex body supported by the ministry of commerce and industry.

2 Kerala Pavilion Inaugurated, Tamil Nadu nominated for Investment Promotion Award, at Annual Investment Meeting, AbuDhabi

3 Deepak Bhoria & Nishant Dev to play their quarterfinal bouts in Men's World Boxing Championships 2023 in Tashkent today

Indian boxers Nishant Dev and Deepak Bhoria will play in the quarter-finals of the Boxing World Championships 2023 in Tashkent today. Nishant will face Cuba’s Jorge Cuellar. Deepak will be up against Diushebaev Nurzhigit of Kyrgyzstan, and he will look to confirm a medal for India.

Yesterday, Deepak reached the quarterfinals of the men’s 51kg category with a 5-0 unanimous decision win over Zhang Jiamao of China. His compatriot Nishant Dev knocked down Nidal Foqahaa of Palestine twice inside the first minute to force the referee to stop the contest. He advanced to the men’s 71 kg category quarterfinal.

4 New Delhi: Mos Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar launches third phase of Thalassemia Bal Sewa Yojana

Minister of State for Health Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar launched the third phase of the Thalassemia Bal Sewa Yojana of the Health Ministry in New Delhi today. The project is being supported by Coal India Limited as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to commemorate World Thalassemia Day. She also launched the Thalassemia Bal Sewa Yojana Portal. Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, Tribal Affairs Secretary Anil Kumar Jha, and Secretary, of the Department of Health Research, Dr Rajiv Bahl were also present on the occasion.

 Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder that causes the body to have less hemoglobin than normal. Health Ministry has been implementing the Thalassemia Bal Sewa Yojana since 2017 under the National Health Mission and recently completed its second phase in March this year.

5 PM lauds India’s first IAF Heritage Centre; also congratulates India’s women athletes on winning 17 medals at Wushu Stars C’ship

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded India’s first Indian Air Force Heritage Centre in Chandigarh. Retweeting a tweet by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the Prime Minister said this is a commendable effort, which will further highlight the rich contribution of our Air Force to India. In another tweet, Mr Modi congratulated India’s women athletes on winning 17 medals for the country at Wushu Stars Championship held in Moscow, Russia. He also lauded Tripura Government's decision to go paperless. Replying to a tweet by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, Prime Minister tweeted that it is good to see Tripura making determined efforts to embrace technology and bring a positive difference in the lives of citizens.

6 India Post signs MoU with CAIT and Tripta Technologies for logistics services

India Post has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and Tripta Technologies for logistics services.

The MoU will benefit small and medium traders as they will be able to use India Post as a logistics service provider across the country.

The partnership between India Post, CAIT and Tripta Technologies will provide shipping and the last mile delivery services to CAIT's strong trader base and small and medium business in the unorganised sector.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla paid floral tributes to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on Tuesday at his portrait in the Central Hall of Parliament House on his birth anniversary. Minister of State in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Members of Parliament, former Members and other dignitaries also paid tributes to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Speaking on this occasion Mr Birla said that life of Gurudev Tagore teaches us devotion towards our country and the entire humanity. A Booklet on Gurudev Tagore, brought out by the Lok Sabha Secretariat in Hindi and English, was also presented to the dignitaries on this occasion.

8 Former President Ram Nath Kovind addresses Phase-1 training program 'Vipassana'

Former President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the Phase-1 training program 'Vipassana' camp of 2022 batch trainees, and officers at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie on Tuesday.
 
Kovind said that to build a Golden India, work will have to be done with modern and service-oriented thinking. He urged the officers to play a leading role in the ongoing national campaign against corruption. Addressing the trainee officers, he said as an officer they have to proceed in their work with the spirit of transparency, fairness and satisfaction of the people.

9 India Prioritizes Early Childhood Care and Education with Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi Launch

The Ministry of Women and Child Development in New Delhi will organize a national event on key initiatives for strengthening Early Childhood Care and Education, ECCE, which is an important component of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Mission Poshan 2.0.

The main objective of the event is to highlight the criticality of focusing on early childhood care and education. On the occasion, the Ministry will also launch Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi, a pathbreaking ECCE program to ensure that India has the world’s largest, universal, high-quality pre-school network, as suggested by the National Education Policy. Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Zubin Irani will grace the occasion.

10 President Droupadi Murmu confers 37 Gallantry awards

President Droupadi Murmu conferred eight Kirti Chakras, including five posthumous, and 29 Shaurya Chakras, including five posthumous, upon the personnel of the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces and State or Union Territory Police during Defence Investiture Ceremony (Phase-1) in New Delhi on Tuesday.
 
 The Gallantry awards were given to the personnel for displaying conspicuous gallantry, indomitable courage and extreme devotion to duty. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur were also present during the event.
