1 India Showcases Cutting-Edge Aerospace Technologies at Dubai Air Show

The India Pavilion at the Dubai Air Show is abuzz with excitement as top Indian defense companies, including Bharat Electronics, Bharat Dynamics Limited, Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited, and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, unveil the nation's latest advancements in aerospace technology.

One of the main attractions at the Indian pavilion is the model display of the Twin Engine Deck Based Fighter (TEDBF), developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO). TEDBF boasts several salient features, including its role as a medium-weight carrier-borne aircraft designed for both air defense and maritime strike missions. The aircraft supports automatic ski-jump take-off and arrested landing on aircraft carriers, featuring a moderate sweep delta-wing configuration with canards, diverterless supersonic intake, modern sensors, avionics systems, wing fold for compact stowage space on aircraft carriers, and advanced indigenous weapons. Additionally, the TEDBF incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) based Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) and a man-unmanned teaming capability.

2 Secretary, Ministry of Steel inaugurates ‘Steel Pavilion’ at IITF 2023

Sh. Nagendra Nath Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, inaugurated the Ministry of Steel’s Pavilion at India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023 today (14.11.2023) at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The Secretary, accompanied by Sh. Sanjay Roy, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Sh. Amarendu Prakash, Chairman, SAIL, senior officials of Ministry of Steel and top officials of various steel companies, marked the commencement of the pavilion and ceremonially opened the stalls of Ministry of Steel along with SAIL, NMDC, MOIL, MSTC, TATA Steel, JSW Steel Limited , Jindal Stainless Steel & Jindal Steel and Power Limited.

Speaking at the inauguration, Secretary, Ministry of Steel emphasized the critical role of the steel industry in India's growth trajectory and highlighted the government's commitment to fostering a conducive environment for the steel sector. “It's in these exhibits that we witness the dynamic spirit and innovative display of our steel sector and excellence takes center stage”, he added while inaugurating the stalls at Steel Pavilion. He also commended the Indian steel industry for their unwavering dedication to excellence and innovation.

3 Sahara Group chairman Subrata Roy passes away at 75

Subrata Roy, the founder of Sahara India Pariwar, passed away on November 14. He was 75.

In a statement, the Sahara group said, "Saharasri ji an inspirational leader and visionary, passed away on 141h November 2023 at 10.30 pm due to cardiorespiratory arrest following an extended battle with complications arising from metastatic malignancy, hypertension, and diabetes. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute (KDAH) on 12th November 2023, following a decline in health. " Roy is survived by wife Swapna Roy and two sons, Sushanto Roy and Seemanto Roy.

The song "Abundance in Millets" celebrates the International Year of the Millets, which was declared by the United Nations this year. It is composed by Mumbai-born singer-songwriter Falguni Shah and her husband and singer Gaurav Shah.

The track features parts of a speech rendered by Prime Minister Modi at the inauguration of the Global Millets (Shree Anna) Conference in March this year in New Delhi. The Abundance in Millets was released in June this year marking the celebration of the International Year of Millets-2023.

9 THDC India Inks Pacts To Develop 3,270 MW Renewable Energy Projects In Karnataka

THDC India Ltd (THDCIL) is planning to set up 3,270 megawatts (MWs) of clean energy projects, including pumped storage and floating solar, in Karnataka, its chairman and managing director R K Vishnoi has said.

In this regards, the Uttarakhand-based company on Thursday signed two memoranda of understandings with Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) and Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) in Bengaluru.

"These collaborative efforts encompass the development of a diverse range of projects, spanning ground-mounted, floating solar projects, and hybrid projects including pumped storage projects (PSPs) with a cumulative capacity of around 3,270 MW," Vishnoi said in a company statement.

10 World Bank approves USD 150 million for Sri Lanka’s banking sector stabilisation

Colombo, Nov 10 (PTI) The World Bank has approved USD 150 million to strengthen Sri Lanka's financial and institutional sectors, the Central Bank of the debt-trapped island nation said here on Friday.

“Sri Lanka’s economic crisis highlights the need for strong safety nets to support the financial sector. Stable and reliable banking sector is essential for the economy, businesses and individuals, small businesses and poor households,” Faris Hadad-Zervos, World Bank Country Director for Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka was quoted as saying in the Bank’s statement.

The World Bank Executive Board approved the USD 150 million assistance on Thursday.
